Skyline: A rain-cloud passes over the city.

Plot: KACL is 50 years old!!! And to celebrate they're putting on a production of their first drama broadcast, Nightmare Inn. And Dr Crane is director, which Niles thinks will mean Frasier will have rewritten the script and played the lead.

Niles is right, as a few days before the broadcast everyone meets at Frasier's for a rehearsal. Frasier is the Inspector, Roz the owner of the Inn, Gil plays ex-RAF Nigel Fairservice, Bulldog playing a Chineseman Mr Wing, his girlfriend Maxine playing a maid and actor Mel White playing all the smaller characters such as Peppo the dwarf and Hans the butler.

Things go wrong when Mel gets fed up with Frasier's OTT directing and quits. Frasier needs someone who can play 6 characters, and invites Niles to do it. Without telling him until 5 minutes before of course, because otherwise Niles wouldn't agree. When Niles finds out, it's too late. Then Frasier starts over-directing once more, cutting out Gil's favourite lines and causing Gil to sulk, and Niles gets fed up with Frasier's directing. Plus Bulldog is too nervous to say anything. Will this production be a Nightmare - literally?

Subtitles: Ham Radio.

Trivia: Reappearances of Gil and Noel. Noel is responsible for sound effects and accidentally plays ice cream truck music instead of organ music. Mel's wife is Jennifer in accounting by the way.
