Mel is manipulative - she manipulates Niles into standing for Corkmaster as well. The brothers Crane are now against each other, and after a very long tie-breaker Niles is declared the new Corkmaster. Frasier is upset and cross.
At the brunch, Daphne is getting drunk on Bloody Mary's and Mel is being very fussy (insisting that Eddie go on the balcony whilst they're eating). She isn't too popular with the others but they pretend otherwise to keep Niles happy.
When Mel has to leave, everyone relaxes. But when Niles comes back to ask them what they thought of her, a drunken Daphne says she hated her. Everyone else's views of Mel are then also exposed.
Meanwhile Martin is seeing the widow of one of his friends and is feeling a bit guilty.....
