Skyline: A crescent moon rises.Plot: Daphne is coming home from the health spa, and Niles has picked her up. He's thrilled to see her again - until Daphne mentions a theory as to why she put on so much weight. Daphne's therapist, Gloria, says that Daphne was worried in case she couldn't live up to Niles' expectations of her. He did after all idolise her for 7 years from afar, and Gloria thinks he's built up a perfect image of her in his head. Daphne felt she couldn't live up to that, so she ate. Niles thinks this is a load of rubbish, and when Frasier, Martin and Roz hold a party to celebrate Daphne's homecoming, Niles keep making snide comments about Gloria and her theory. Daphne gets cross and asks him to leave. Next day Niles goes to Frasier for advice. He suggests that Gloria is right, and that Niles has to start looking at Daphne for who she really is, not for what he thinks she is. They then examine past scenes (literally!!!) and Niles comes to a conclusion..... Meanwhile Roz is thinking of publishing a story her mother used to tell her when she was a girl, causing Frasier and Niles to remember the stories they wrote as children - "The Crane Boys Mysteries". Subtitles: Of Course, Eddie Gets Ten Percent Of The Royalties. Trivia: This is the final episode to be directed by Pamela Fryman. Mentions of Alice and Eddie - Martin suggests Roz write about Eddie for her story. Roz says if she were writing about dogs she'd use her own - Frankie/Ariel (Ep 175 "Motor Skills"). We don't actually see Eddie at all though. Roz also phones her mother Joanne to tell her about her book. Daphne comes back from the fat farm - she's lost 60 pounds. During Niles' memories, we see flashbacks to his first meeting with Daphne - Ep 3 "Dinner At Eight", the night he danced the tango with her - Ep 61 "Moon Dance" and a scene where they are cooking together - Ep 115 "First Date". However present day Frasier and Niles are in the background analysing them!!! |
