Skyline: The light at the top of the Space Needle flashes.Plot: It's the 8th anniversary of the day Martin moved in with Frasier, and Frasier is a bit upset by this - he's been living with his dad longer (8 years) than any of his relationships have lasted, including Lilith (6 years). Every little thing Martin does is annoying Frasier, through no fault of Martin's. Martin's chair is squeaking and this really annoys Frasier. Martin decides to oil it, but accidentally spills oil on the carpet. Frasier is furious and he and Martin have a big argument. Next day the furniture is on the balcony whilst the new carpet is being fitted. Unfortunately the telescope focuses sunlight on the chair, and it catches fire. When Frasier tries to put it out, the chair falls onto the street (narrowly missing Martin and Daphne) and is destroyed. Martin blames Frasier - he's now lost his favourite possession forever. Frasier decides to make it up to his father, but getting an identical chair will take some work..... Meanwhile Niles is teaching Daphne and Roz the piano. Roz gets good at it and enjoys it, but Daphne's progress isn't wonderful - even though she took lessons for 8 years when she was younger..... Subtitles: The Recline And Fall Of Western Civilization; Knees Off The Keys Please. Where Everybody Knows Your Name: Mention of Lilith. Trivia: And so the end of an era, as Martin's chair burns up. The apartment won't look different though because Frasier manages to get an identical chair. Martin complains about coffee again, as he did in Ep 24 "My Coffee With Niles", about how he prefers the regular stuff as opposed to the exotic flavours available in Cafe Nervosa. |
