Who gives a shit about the CS cheating scandal?  The FASET Scam (which also applies to "Connect with Tech") is 20 times worse, but you don't see that on the front page of the paper, do you?  FASET is something they like to call, "Familiarization and Adaptation to the Surroundings and Environs of Tech." (You can tell they were trying really hard to make that an acronym)  Basically this FASET thing is Tech's way of introducing you to the campus while hyping it up to be some way cool party school where everything is great.  The thing is, it's all lies.  They want you to think that Tech is fun, but you'll realize that you got scammed once you actually start school. 

    The most cowardly and malicious thing they do at FASET is fool you into thinking that there is actually a female population at Tech.  Before coming to FASET, you might have heard that only 30% of students at Tech are girls.  But at FASET, they try to make you think that it's not really that bad.  You'll see that more like half of the FASET leaders are girls, and some pretty decent looking ones too.  So instead of canceling your application and deciding on going to your local state college, you're lured into the deceptive web of Georgia Tech even further. 

    After they have you thinking that you won't leave Tech being a college virgin, they'll let you move into your dorm room, where you stay the night, so you can get a feel for what its like to actually stay on the campus.  So you're thinking, "Hey this is not so bad.  The room has decent furniture, it's kinda roomy for dorm, etc."  The thing is you'll never stay in that dorm again for as long as you live, because it's Woodruff or the Undergraduate Living Center!!

    So FASET is going alright, Georgia Tech actually has girls, and the dorm isn't a shithole.  To top it off, they have all these little fun and games activities for you to do while you're there, so that they can break the third stereotype about Tech - that it's boring.  There's so much shit to do at FASET that you don't even know what to go to - Caribbean dinner, games, you name it, they got it.  Surely this has got to be a representation of what it's like to be a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech.  Well, that's just unfortunate, because you got scammed.

    When you get to Georgia Tech and it's move-in day, you're all optimistic about college life...because FASET did what they wanted it to.  Then you get the key to your dorm (if the genius passing out keys happens to give you the right key, which wasn't the case with me), and your jaw drops because your room is half the size of what you stayed in during FASET, the furniture is falling apart, and it smells like ass.  It doesn't take you much longer to realize that the student body really is only 30% female and it shows.  And by the end of your first 2 weeks of college, you'll see that Georgia Tech is boring as FUCK.  You'll be lucky to even find time to go to any of the broke ass frat parties aside from all the shitloads of work you'll get.  But on the upside, at least you were Familiarized and Adapted to the Surroundings and Environs of Tech.
