Modelling

Modelling is the second topic studied by year 8 students. This is related to spreadsheets that can be used to do lots of calculations quickly and easily. Students will learn the importance of spreadsheets and will be creating a spreadsheet with formulas to perform various calculations.

By the end of this unit students will be able to:

Load Excel

Enter text and numerical data into the cells of the spreadsheet

Use formulas to perform calculations

Make predictions about what happens if a variable is changed

Change variables to see the effect on a model

Apply their knowledge of modelling to novel contexts
