My days
Wednesday, 27-Dec-00 17:26:43

7 years there, at university in the midlands I was in the 1992-97 period. I have complained about the elitism at the place u call school, the teachers with there discipline, the stupid (54 different lunch queues), Mr. Harris and those hysterical speeches, little blue cards (10 for a commendation), short holidays, Houston, Training Days, Occupational shells, Mr Liddelow with RE Projects (and his magic), "ALL THE WORLDS A STAGE" with Marston, "Boneheads" with Maughan.

But even with all of this I say that "you never appreciate something until it is gone" .............

    F*** QE

QE Boys has no power, and I really hope some teacher reads this. You want to know what's so beautifal about the internet FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Whatever you do, you cannot expel, suspend, or even put in detention 1300 odd boys, yet we can all go to this site, and we will, we will continue to leave messages. You have no power here so begone, begone that is all that can be said.

Don't do anything stupid!
Monday, 25-Dec-00 16:06:50

Ok lads what u say hear is very good, entertaining and a great way to spend an afternoon but u have to stop. I am in the third year and i have been a form captain in my time and i have realised a few things. Although the school is very strict and do have a few unressinable duties like litter duty and refector duty we must realise that with out this the school will be in utter trouble. i have seen other schools in which pupils run about, fight, even hit teachers anbd trust me it is better to do these things than become one of these schools. Another school i know does interveiws to possible new pupils. this is good as then the teachers can realise what pupils are really like. In my year we have alot of clever, trouble makers that r afecting my learning cause they r sreaming in class. in my form 3 people have been suspended so all i recomend is that u should watch what u say here and thaAT ALL the things the teachers do r 4 us so please stop doing this.

Do u thing i am stupid?

Sunday, 24-Dec-00 18:27:56

The construction of the new school gates has brought to mt attention a new scandal. The average person would say that the school is constructing gates in order to look modern and like a private school, however there are more scandalous reasons.

Surely in constructing gates, the school are able to prevent children escaping the concentration camp during the day (in other words bunk) whilst there would be no escape from teachers issuing endless detetentions.

Once again the school is exposed......

Sunday, 24-Dec-00 06:31:07

I am absolutely amazed no-one has mentioned Mr Shirley. Is he still at QE Boys school occasionally? How many Germans did he kill again? Do pupils still make air-raid sirens when he is in the classroom. Classic. He once stressed the importance of foreign languages (someone had to as we were doing some crappy worksheet for the 8th lesson in a row) - always best to understand your enemy!
So maybe the school produces complete twats or young, over ambitious gogetters, but if we turn out like that when we are 70+, I'll be happy.

Firstly I would like to thank all students sticking together on this website, particularly De Liberator who I find highly amusing and inspiring. I have noticed a decline in messages on the message board since Dr Mac's alleged threats of bringing in the C.I.A, the police and even the courts to sort out the website which has caused utter humiliation to the school. If the school took such a matter to court, they would be ridiculed by the judge and the press for trying to restrict freedom of speech so I urge everyone to keep the message board going. My comiserations go out to those of you who will rejoin the school after the suspension they have endured.

Wednesday, 20-Dec-00 17:16:23

I have just read the message below and from 'I think I'm Paranoid' and I find it inspiring to say the least. Everything said is true.

I think what everyone has to remember is that this site is only highlighting (or at least trying to highlight, if it were not for some stupid contributions) THE TRUTH of QE BOYS.

Refuse/resist should be the cry, not the backing down of an entire student body envoked by a fear of unjust suspension.

Remember, QE do not want this site to be an issue - If it became so, think of all the negative publicity they would recieve. What they are doing through suspension is a form of damage limitation: keeping the contributors of this site in control, whilst not making the actual existence of the site a big deal.

The school does not have to know who you are to be able to contribute. More to the point, they cannot suspend everyone. IT IS THE PUPILS WHO HOLD THE KING CARDS, not the school. As 'I think I'm paranoid' noted, it is the holidays and there is time to ponder the situation, however it will be a shame if the school gets away again with this sort of thing. As said below, united we remain stronger, after all, what is a school without its pupils?

    TTTF

c'mon, sort it out.
Wednesday, 20-Dec-00 16:47:19

As the webpage is entitled “Queen Elizabeth's Boys School: The Truth” the following must be published:

(This message is mainly a reply to "a challenge" )

Why are you trying to "crack down" on the school? Do you want to jeopardise your own education? Do you not realise why you are in school? I can understand the lower years (3rd/4th) hatred towards the school due to puberty (and growing up in general) but 5th formers and 6th formers, come off it, you are going through a crucial part of your life where you either get the right grades and move on or drop out. The school doesn’t operate on a caring basis, they want to get the grades for their reputation. Now accept that and use the resources they offer to your advantage, because they only benefit from you if you do well yourself, if you remain retarded and don't use your potential then they're not going to sympathise.

Ask yourself: “Why am I in this school?” the answer is because you need to educate yourself to get somewhere in life. So shut up and do it.

    Note that:

    a) if you are genuinely unhappy then leave. Go to another school. I'm sure your parents would pull you out if you were but the truth is you all enjoy hating the school, whether you have reason to or not. (This may be because it does not give you as much freedom as the modern day world presents you with and so you feel restricted) but some of you post the most offensive sh-t to teachers and then wonder why your getting in trouble for it. You are saying I hate the school (by publication) , the school says fine go away (for a certain period of time) then you say look at how unjust the school is. What do you think they’re going to do you f***ing morons, say “oh go ahead give us a bad name, we don’t care!” THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS BUILT ON REPUTATION – you know this, yet you don’t think you’re at risk of punishment when you globally defame it?

    b) I am not agreeing with the school’s methods, but the school is a tool which you can use for your own benefit, and the more you benefit (academically) the more they benefit. So it is in THEIR interest to see you do well.

    c) If you disagree with their methods of “encouragement” then you just sit there and try to think of a better way

    d) there are some really bad teachers at QE Boys, but at the same time there are some very good teachers. Use them to your advantage.

    Beat me.

A challenge
Tuesday, 19-Dec-00 20:15:34

To be honest, a school like QE Boys, with a headmaster as obsessed with information as J. Edgar Hoover, it shouldn't be a surprise that freedom of expression is clamped down on.
What the school relies on is grassing and people who seek rewards for offering information. Furthermore, there is a culture whereby we take some pleasure at others misfortunes, and are far from defending other pupils. They (senior school staff) rely on apathy.
I could invoke "united we stand, divided we fall", which sums things up. Most people must feel that those suspended have been dealt an injustice. Surely over the holidays something can be organised. Everyone links to everyone. I am talking to the older years - stand up together. It takes guts to be first, but all take action together. Spread the word. A sit in perhaps. These boys have been dealt with unfairly. You could be next as you've committed the 'crime' of visiting this site.
And us former students would be proud, and future years would have legends to talk about.
Forget the threat about UCAS reports. They want you to get in the best university that you can. And essentially, your A level results (and predictions) are what is important.
Don't be weak. If youve got any backbone left after however many years of the QE way, then ask yourself if you are up to the challenge.
Plus, think of the publicity if the school cracked down too harshly.

PS, do tell on this site of any progress, as i am not at the school.
And when are we going to learn the identity of those who set this site up? You are heroes, deserving of joining xmas card list. I really want to know, so if you are secure about not needing school reports for future jobs, do reveal yourselves at some point.

    I think I'm paranoid (33)

i was thinking to myself as i read the message board which would be the teachers who would continue the tradition of canning children.

As i read the copious injustices inflicted on seemingly innocent pupils it struck me that these malicious characters armed with a whip would be insane, with their pleasure and malice taken in a poor child’s pain, and misery.

Well the names Houston who by law can no longer whip the children so now has to resort to forcibly gripping their arm and shaking, removing any personality these poor first years have left, which was often for the obvious character defect of wearing white socks or having your top button undone?????

a little trick my dad told me was to put a pipe cleaner down your trousers so the cane would hit it instead (at a perpendicular angle of course) and as for Houston, I would recommend a couple of thousand volts wrapped around your arm or a self defence coarse, or perhaps a sharp knee in the right direction might loosen his grip, perhaps.

Suspension?
Sunday, 17-Dec-00 11:28:59

Suspension? For airing opinions on this site? There are a fair few people who read and contribute to this site who don't go to this school. So can somebody please inform me (even our school) of how suspension solves the problem. The site will continue, whether or not QE Boys perform their usual bulls--- that they have done for years and years. A school should be a place of freedom to think, an institution that prepares you for REAL life, and making a few remarks on this message board should mean nothing. Perhaps the amount of truth in some of the messages have ruffled the schools feathers a little too much.

Anyhow, pupils can easily access and contribute to this site and still remain unknown as long as it is done at hope.. (or at least I think.) Can someone please explain how these people were caught, if they were actually caught atall.

Classic Punishments
Thursday, 30-Nov-00 19:06:19

Was anyone a victim of Mr Marston's mythical cruel and unusual punishment of standing barefoot in a bucket of water holding out two sandbags for 30 minutes? I have often heard this one mentioned but I know nobody who has experienced it.

I was once made to it directly behind the cricket stumps as punishment by (i think) Bill Norton the alcoholic red-faced games teacher , for the heinous crime of running too slowly, or possibly malicious breathing, I can't remember. As a result i got smacked on the head by a cricket ball, which was f***ing painful, and because i didn't complain i got a ducat. I realise now, years later, I could have been seriously injured and sued the bastard. If that happened in America there would be a massive court case.

Hmmm... reminds me of an incident a friend of mine was in.

Whilst jumping a wall in the 2nd Year (I mean Year 7) playground he bashed his knee severly against the wall, he was in slight pain and he wasn't bleeding, so he went to his lesson thinking nothing was wrong except it was slightly painful to walk.

After tis lesson was over he was concerned with the fact that the pain hadn't gone away and there was swelling around the knee, so he went to the nurse, and the diagnosis was a slight knock, and told him to go to his lessons.

I met up with him as he was entering the Year10/11 playground down the stairs (straight after this consultation) and he could hardly move his leg and the swelling was looking rather serious...

Anyway to cut the end down a little, my friend needed Key-hole surgury to stop the internal bleeding that was was occuring in his knee.

The school is a community in which everyone has rights and so the formation of a school council which represented the interests of the students would be one step forward. It's easy to criticise, but more difficult to actually do something.

I would just like to comment on the lack of black pupils at QE Boys during my time there. Is this still the case?

When i was at QE we had many teachers fond of the odd drink or two. Namely Mr Fitch and the legendary Mr Harris.

A few years ago me and a few other ex QE pupils would regularly smoke weed in the grounds of the school. The fact that it was at QE made it funnier when we were stoned.

Is Mr Hallet still there? He was a legend, he had 8 A-levels, a four foot wive and a dog called Merlin who kept urinating on everyones kitbag.

Thursday, 16-Nov-00 07:53:20

Mr Lee was one of my favourite teachers, along with Dr Yeo. If you paid attention, you would have learned not just your subject, but also about other matters related to growing up.
Most teachers only ever spoke about their subject, concerned about their grades only. They are two teachers who cared about their pupils, and give their students things to think about in life outside the classroom. More like them at QE Boys would have made it a much better school to look back on.

PS - I would name one or two more teachers, but it would narrow it down so much I would be discovered. Life at QE makes you paranoid about covering your tracks!

Well imagine the shock I recieved when going to my first geography lesson which was being "taught" by none other than... Mr.Borderly. Was he meant to be a proper qualified teacher? All he did was sit there in lessons commenting on various peoples names and trying to make up plausable stories on the origin of their surnames. When he didnt do that he was busy convincing us that there was this magic carpet he had in his car which would give us rides to the king of the potato people who would provide us with answers to the half term tests he was going to make us sit. The he suddenly disappeared, only to be replaced by none other than Mr Davidson.

Thank you QE Boys for the high quality geographical education you provided me with in the early years. (Great department now thought, I think)

Ok, for some reason he does the strangest things. Once he walked into the room, stared at the class for about 2 minutes and then proceeded to do atleast 50 press ups on the floor. Correct me if I'm wrong but if your teacher does that, are you really meant to take them seriously? And what is with his bad notes. I remember an incident of when a member of the class was whistling quietly to himself, and immediately Davidson strided over (literally) and then grabbed his book, spent 10 minutes looking at the bad note sheet, even though there was nothing on it and then wrote a dot. Righhhttt!!!

Well if that is the quality of teaching at QE Boys then go for it!!

    Mr Chair

Why Regulate The Board
Sunday, 12-Nov-00 07:24:02

Why should our voices have to be regulated ?
What becuase the school had a go at certain people? The owners of the site claim to be EX QE people then why are you worried. ITS CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH. We are able to speaked our mind and should not have to worry about it. Yes i agree insulting some of the teachers is going a little too far and don't really agree with it. Though its true some of the teachers are doing the job becuase they need to NOT WANT To. Though teachers should accept that they are not going to be liked by pupils, no one likes being pushed hard and made to do work. Though i do think that comments about the business studies department were wrong (bar one which i agree with).

FIRST AID
Friday, 10-Nov-00 15:52:35

mrs cannon claims to be a school nurse, but everyone knows that she is not a qualified first aider. Just a couple of years ago, my friend dislocated his shoulder and she sent him away saying "theres nothing wrong with you!" She is currently doing internal mail.

The perfect QE boy
Thursday, 09-Nov-00 17:16:41

This is a mail to explain the perfect QE boy from the school perspective, in a range of rules featured below:

1)Hair must be a side parting, and at least grade 34 at the sides and the back.
    2) gel is not to be worn, due to ummm...lets just say fire and bad representation of the school.
3)Pupils with lunch passes must obey the rules- u mustn not smoke, drink or buy lunch.
4)no running, shouting, tlaking, walking, football in the playground
    5) the pupil must engage in free labour in order to benefit from the school, ie. litter duty.
6)Pupils must understand that teachers like Mr Jansen are in charge and that DJ is 'superior' to them.
    7) Pupils in reward for their good behavior will be given a good educucation along with a freakshow including mr. davidson, mr brown and the man with the large head

The GREAT NETWORK
Thursday, 09-Nov-00 15:03:00

We are ment to have a great computer room - The ERL that we proudly show off on PPE though the "great" tour guides forget to tell them that the computer room is never open or that the network is constantly down or that you are not allowed to user the Internet unless for "work". Even though the school does have a Fixed Line and does not make a difference to them at all.

umm, but
Tuesday, 07-Nov-00 18:58:26

I think that due to the fact it is clear that many teachers read this there should be some recognition to those who have respect from pupils:

Hargadon - his dry wit and marvellous use of innuendo should be an inspiration to us all.
    Parcell
    The entire design department!
    Mr Pool
    Dr Russel
    Mr Buckeridge
    Mr Tricket
    Mr Folding

Although these may be disputed among many I would like to comment on one of QE’S WORST mr Tredwin, and would be interested to hear any amusing stories as I am sure there are many

Great school!!!
Saturday, 04-Nov-00 12:12:32

I expect you have all noticed what has happened to the Rose Garden.

But have you seen that ridiculous new electric roof above it. I've been informed that that would have cost over £10,000.

What is the point, no one goes in there apart from first years who deserve to be rained on anyway.

It gets worse! After purchasing this amazing roof, the school could not afford to repair the roof in E7 which i swear will fall down any minute.

But no, its OK now the whole matter has been dealt with, the roof has been f***in painted white which i'm sure will solve the whole problem.

Don't you just love this school!!!

The common room
Saturday, 04-Nov-00 11:53:33

    Our common room is quality!

I was talking to a girl i know who goes to latimer and she is in the sixth form, in their common room they have:
    - a pool table that costs 20p a game!!!
    - a playstation
    - tv
    - a kitchen with sink, microwave, and kettle
    - sofas

    At QE Boys we have
    - the crappest hifi on the market where only the tape deck works
    - thousands of these stuuuupid little desks that you can only fit one book on and you cant get your legs under
    - hundreds of incomplete chess sets that are all broken.

Mmmm, i wonder which 6th form id rather be in!!!

Teachers
Friday, 03-Nov-00 15:24:22

well as the makers of this website refuse to put my views on the message board, probably because of the harsh reality they put accross about teachers, i have decided to grill the teachers a little less, and be less obcene!

Mr Jansen-Grade A PRAT! i could crush him with my little finger. what is up with the way he speaks his mouth seems to open so wide, all the better for Mr Richards if you ask me!!

Mr Richards- Will he ever stop sweating. It is so off putting to see him write on the board, as when he turns around it's just a sea of sweat on his back. It dips off his chin to his shirt. DISGUSTING!! He sould not be allowed in public places due to his TERRIBLE HYGINE

    All for now

    Will slate more teachers.
This i don't think is too obscene, just the truth!!

I'm sure this point has been made already but why is there so much anti gay sentiment on this site? gay people are no different from others and most of you should face the fact that 3 of your classmates are gay

Re: Music
Thursday, 02-Nov-00 06:33:32

It is true that QE has a sad record of music. Not necessarily in reference to its avalibility as a GCSE, or A-level however,(although matters such as this are a persistant problem at QE boys) but more about the fact that playing the guitar or having genuine enthusiasm for listening and writing music was brushed aside in favour of those who played the cello, trumpet or any other brass band instrument (probably even the f'ing triangle). It is genuinely sad to know that those with a real passion for music were and will be ignored by the school simply because you couldn't toot a bloody bugle for the school band in front of some governers and prospective parents. Surely a school is there to harness the good in each pupil? However, if that good doesn't match the schools profile, sorry son, but you're just not worthy of attention, well not in QE anyhow.

Your advert
Tuesday, 31-Oct-00 15:30:20

Having seen one of your adverts on a lampost outside my house on ppe i thought that you'd get your message across to the new parents. however when i went back past and hour or so latter someone had tried to pick it off followed by them covering it. The school possibly trying to stop free speech and your message. I wonder
