let's have some more juicy scandal!!!
Saturday, 28-Oct-00 12:10:39

I've just stumbled across this site, and I have to say keep up the good work. It's sad to see the school hasn't changed it's attitude since I left in 1994 (thank f--- i decided not to stay on). The school has always been more concerned about its reputation than the needs of its pupils, and unless you are particularly academically bright or good at sport, they don't give a f--- about you.
Anyway, it's great remembering those legendary incidents, but surely there is room for more scandal? After all there have been enough of them.
On a related note, does anybody remember the 1993 geography field trip to Swanage when Karl 'Kevin Keeegan' Newell and Chris 'Sonic' Sugden went on the p*** in Poole and Suggs *allegedly* pulled one of the girls from the girls school that was staying there at the same time?. Also on this trip Newell went ballistic because a pupil beat him at snooker and he had to be restrained.
Anyone care to shed some light on these and other lesser mentioned events?

Sixth Form life...
Thursday, 26-Oct-00 16:45:18

I have to say that in the 6th form at QE I have some of the best teachers I have ever had, but why can't the rest of the experience be as good? For example, we have to put up with general studes once a week (which is useless and boring), having to spend our time action planning (which everyone makes up 5 mins before the tutorial), can't go out during study periods in the morning (even if we sign out), have to put up with stupid uniform rules, and aren't allowed to drop subjects if we want to (which is our own personal decision anyway). If QE Boys actually stopped trying to control our spare time and non-academic performance, then many people might actually enjoy (!) the 6th Form.

Site popularity
Monday, 23-Oct-00 11:58:06

Its amazing how long QE Boys hate sites have been around, but only now have people actually started to take notice of it. Strange that. And unfortunately due to the increase in popularity, more teachers are reading them, and people at QE are being accused of making the sites. Correct me if Im wrong, but arent the creators OLD pupils?

Oh well, I spose more hits means more exposure, and thats never a bad thing is it? Well, onto my view of the school:
    1) Teachers (in general) even if they are annoying/sad/stupid do a good job at QE - u wont get a bad education there (coz if u did, u would last 15 mins and then they would chuck u)
    2) Money is spent very badly - nice new office Dr Mac, crappy plasterboard 6th form block...
    3) Acting prefects - why the f--- are they from the 4th year? The little buggers are lippy enough as it is...
    4) Top of the range computer rooms *cough*. With extremely computer-competant teachers who run them *cough* Mr Currel *cough*.
    5) Basically the entire games department is full of good teachers, but have s--- funding (same with design department)
    6) Why the f--- is Mr Davidson still employed by the school? I remember when he went up to a kid in my class, and without warning, pushed all of his stuff off the desk and walked off. Just coz he was talking! What a fool.

They killed Ryman! You Bastards!!
Sunday, 22-Oct-00 10:01:41

Well, too many pupils know about this site, and, more worryingly, way too many teachers know about this site. That is why Ryman has commited suicide. He is now dead. The teachers have pushed him over the limit by repeatedly bringing up his name in class. From now on, his article and opinions will be posted without a name, for he is no more. Goodbye Ryman.

Why do all of the gaymes teachers insist on using me as an example of when something has gone wrong?! Dont do this like him, don't do that like him!!
Also, why do they like to watch me changing? Why do they have computers. None of them can read or write and Mr Maugn can't even see? And why do they insist on us doing block runs only when its raining?

Human Rights Abuse?
Thursday, 19-Oct-00 20:54:48

Right, I decided to review the Human Rights Laws today and compare them to things at school... =)

    ENJOY!!!

Here's a few things that the Human Rights Laws have to say...

    >ARTICLE 3
    > PROHIBITION OF TORTURE
    > No one shall be subjected to torture or to > inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Where to begin on this one...

    >ARTICLE 4
    > PROHIBITION OF SLAVERY AND FORCED LABOUR
    > 1. No one shall be held in slavery or > servitude.
    >
    > 2. No one shall be required to perform > forced or compulsory labour.

A review of the "Litter Duty" policy may be required...

WAHEY!! AND NOW FOR THE BIGGY!!! =)

    >ARTICLE 10
    > FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
    > 1. Everyone has the right to freedom of >expression. This right shall include freedom to >hold opinions and to receive and impart >information and ideas without interference by >public authority and regardless of frontiers. >This Article shall not prevent States from >requiring the licensing of broadcasting, >television or cinema enterprises.
    >
    > 2. The exercise of these freedoms, since >it carries with it duties and responsibilities, >may be subject to such formalities, conditions, >restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by >law and are necessary in a democratic society, >in the interests of national security, >territorial integrity or public safety, for the >prevention of disorder or crime, for the >protection of health or morals, for the >protection of the reputation or rights of >others, for preventing the disclosure of >information received in confidence, or for >maintaining the authority and impartiality of >the judiciary.

Makes interesting reading don't it? =)

    >ARTICLE 14
    > PROHIBITION OF DISCRIMINATION
    > The enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set >forth in this Convention shall be secured >without discrimination on any ground such as >sex, race, colour, language, religion, >political or other opinion, national or social >origin, association with a national minority, >property, birth or other status.

This one really makes an interesting point, with its last two words... "OTHER status"... =)

Anyway I've said my bit.. I'll let you read this little message of mine, and make up your own minds, and why don't you make a litle statement of your own... I'd love to see the response this one gets!!!

A bit of posh
Thursday, 19-Oct-00 08:44:06

Interesting quote I have taken from the QE End of Term Letter which speaks volumes about the school:

BOYS' PRESENTATION OF SELF The boys' perception of themselves as well as the image they project to others is an important element of their rounded development. Please ensure that your son presents himself appropriately each day and in particular in respect of the following:

UNACCEPTABLE: chewing gum; hair gel; and fashionable draw-string bags that damage books.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

When I came to QE, it was a NORMAL school, hadn't opted out, didn't have entrence exams and had automatic entry in their catchment area. It was normal. It even (alledgedly, but GNVQ's were forced)only took 5 C's at GCSE to get into the sixth form. What the f--- has it turned into? Oh dear. I bet that now 50% of the pupils read 'Harpers and Queen' during break, WHERE'S THE PORN?

NICK STRANGER et al.
Thursday, 19-Oct-00 06:39:08

Hang on Nick Stranger. I appriciate the point you are trying to make about QE Boys ultimately allowing some pupils to gain good grades but that is not are argument. NOR IS MESSAGES ABOUT TEACHER'S VOICES, DRESS SENSE OR LIFE STYLE. The point of this site (and the other two) is to highlight the truth about the school. This being that only the priveliged members of the school who gain exceptional grades can go chose the A-levels they desire without being forced into GNVQ's and alike. (if they are allowed into the sixth form anyhow). The fact is that if you are slower than other pupils (I know I was), you aren't embraced by the school to improve grades, as ultimately you are a hinderence to them, nothing else. When I attemded the school those placed in lower sets were practically rejected by the entire school system, no grades: no attention. So Nick Stranger, just because you are obviously of superior intellect to some of your fellow pupils, you felt the school was of benefit to your education because you were an asset to them. Others, (including myself to an extent) were not so lucky. Repeated attempts to kick myself and my some of my friends out were rife, although you probably didn't see all that. These types of pupils have ALWAYS been seen as a 'problem', read about "Emon's Hitlist". Now don't get me wrong, I'm not acting like the victim, far from it, but it isn't the little institution of greatness that you seem to believe, haven't you read the serious messages on this board? There are a lot a valid points to make umong the crap. The clear fact is that QE is not acting like a school, it is hiding the finacial and academic truth and it is detremental to MANY pupils, even if it wasn't to you Nick. It is a shame someone can be so vocal and have such blinkered view of such situations.

German Lessons
Wednesday, 18-Oct-00 11:54:55

When Dr Croft left for her maternity leave after Christmas 1999 the German department found it hard to get another german teacher willing to take over for just one term. So they instead hired a NAZI woman!!!
    -Mrs Ducksworth

She was a large, burly, tonk, crazy woman. No jokes. She actually used to walk around with a long wooden stick. This she used to bang on our desks if we were talking and scream in her german accent, "ARE YOU LISTENING", and stamp her foot at the same time.
We found it hard to take her seriously so stamped our feet at the same time as her and laughed at her openly, this drove her crazy. We loved it. Of course, we learnt nothing!!

Another teacher that has LOST IT is Mr Davidson. The infamous suply teacher who does press-ups and squats in the lesson. As well as going up to someone who is talking and shout "SHUT UP" in their ear, he also has tendecies to throw things around the classroom, and call you things such as "you with the hair" and "you with the face" for an english teacher his description is brilliant!!

Q.E. is meant to have some of the best teachers around. somehow I diosagree!!

    Monkey's Forehead!!

Stop moaning
Friday, 13-Oct-00 15:25:09

Go to a damn private school if you want pool tables and the rest of that crap.

    LISTEN:

You at QE Boys to learn stuff. The teachers might well be twats, and there may well be stupid policies, but if you shut up and get on with it, you'll get good marks, and you'll be sorted.

I'm an ex pupil, so I know where you're all coming from. I hated QE probably more than anyone.

But think about it. If you were a parent, where would you want your kid to go? I promise you, QE would be at the top of the list!

I'm not saying that the school isn't up it's own arse, but believe me: You're f---ing lucky to be there.

Slag me off if you like. I don't care. But just think about what i've said.

If you'd have gone to your local comp, yes there'd be girls, yes the teachers wouldn't be so strict; but also you'd have become a c---, the teachers really wouldn't have given a s--- whether you pass or fail, and you'd have probably got some slapper pregnant by now......(No. It's not cool)

Let me start by saying that Miss Parcel is a VERY good teachers. And i fully applaud her openess with her pupils. But she said something very interesting that i thought just HAD to come on this site.

She said that years ago there was a teacher (she didnt name him), who sold his wife to members of the 6th form to perform "sexual favours". That is TYPICAL of the corrupt and hypocritical environment at our school.

(NB: she also mentioned that Mr.Lee still lives with his mum)

Guess who? You've probably guessed right

6th Form
Sunday, 08-Oct-00 15:25:54

Why is it that the school can afford to pay god knows how much to furnish Dr Mac's office, and yet it cant spend any money making the 6th form block half decent. All we have is one very crap stereo where the CD player doesnt work properly and the speakers are all completely f***ed. I know people at other schools where they have TV's, pool tables, a working stereo etc. Yet more proof that the school doesnt care about the pupils at all.

Legal?
Sunday, 08-Oct-00 13:15:06

RYMAN - Come off it man! You really think the school cares? You think the school is democratic?

Im legal!
Friday, 06-Oct-00 19:38:17

A number of important points have come to my attention recently. Mainly, it is the fact that i KNOW that some teachers (ie. a certain politics one) read this site. Know this:

I AM IN NO WAY CONNECTED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OR MAINTENANCE OF THIS SITE.

Several people have approached me thinking this is my site, but are mistaken.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, by posting messages on this site

I AM DOING NOTHING WRONG, ILLEGAL, OR AGAINST SPECIFIC SCHOOL RULES

I am merely stating my opinion outside of school. In a country were free speech is thoroughly important, i simply CANNOT be put into trouble for saying my views. When someone disagrees with the labour gov they say so, but no-one then expels them from the country. That would be the act of a fascist dictatorship. Thankfully, we live in a democracy, and, were i to be asked to leave the school for merely stating my opinion, i could, and would, fight it, LEGALLY. I would also sell my story to the papers, who would LOVE to hear about how "britain's no.1 state school" asked a pupil to leave because, outside of school, he voiced his dissatisfaction at certain aspects of QE Boys.

Stating my opinions on this site is perfectly legitimate and within my rights. If any teachers out there disagree, by all means reply to this message. Mr Hargedon perhaps? I know u read this site. And i know u condemn me. But u are a politics teacher and can see how what i am doing is perfectly within my rights considering we live in a democratic country. I would like everyones comments on this message, PARTICULARLY Mr Hargedons...

An Interesting Problem
Friday, 06-Oct-00 13:21:11

There are no complaints or direct feedback from the school because they must be thinking of some course of action. I suggest the webmasters here work some sort of disclaimer into this site, so they are not liable for any of the comments submitted on this site by other people. It would appear that the school is impotent to act because of the terrible publicity and press interest that would result if they stepped on this and other sites.

    Some Notes:
If QEB has a personal log-in setup on their networked PCs, then they can check exactly which pupils are looking at which sites by examining the cache, cookie and fat.db files. They don't need to look over peoples' shoulders. The best way to avoid this is to delete these or your history files after each use of the internet, or download a cleaning program such as windowwasher.

The other QEB site is down awaiting a non-libellous, serious revamp and pending Moker getting his arse in gear and writing some content.

Evidence of Paranoia
Thursday, 05-Oct-00 12:19:58

    Well, if you ever needed evidence that the school was paranoid, here it is;

The head monitor in ERL has started taking names of anyone found looking at this site. This was after Mr Hargadon spent a short 'research' session looking at it: he looked like he was quite enjoying himself.

So much for any constitutional rights like freedom of information.

An Example of QEs Lack of fairness
Friday, 29-Sep-00 19:18:01

I have a friend who wanted to do A-level eng lit, maths and business. At GCSE, he got 2 A's for english, an A for maths and an A for business. Perfect? Well not quite. I am CERTAIN that if he went to ANY OTHER SCHOOL OR COLLEGE IN THE COUNTRY, and presented them with his A's in the subjects he wanted to do (along with his other 3 As in other subjects) that they would let him do A-level. Would QE? Ha! Hell no! Mr Lee branded his double A in eng lit as a "fluke", which i thought was throughouly distateful. The maths department only accepted those who got A*s (!!) and he was allowed to do business studies. Now, some people may say "well thats just ONE person", but it isnt. It happens to many people. And even if it was just that ONE person, QE may have ruined his life. And that is not an over-dramatisation. The saddest thing is that its not his fault. He made an effort to get his GCSE grades, and credit to him, he got them. It just so happens that this boy is probably clever enough to make his way to a good university and job, but QE have NOT helped him. They screwed him. And the day when schools become more interested in league tables than in the personal well-being of their pupils is a sad day. And it is a sad day, every day, at QE.
