Krishn Avataar

Maitreya Jee said - "You told me about the lineage of kings, now I want to listen to Vishnu's part Avataar Krishn's account of life born in Yaadav family. Whatever He did, please tell me in detail." Paraashar Jee said - "In earlier times Vasudev married Devak's daughter Devakee. After the marriage was performed, Kans started driving her chariot to Vasudev's palace. At the same time a Divine voice said - "O fool, Which Devakee you are taking sitting on this chariot, her eighth child will take you life." Hearing this Kans immediately got ready to kill Devakee. Seeing this Vasudev Jee said - "Do not kill Devakee. I will give you all her children." Kans got assured and didn't kill Devakee at that time.

At the same time Prithvi went to Sumeru Parvat to Devtaa and told her sorrowful story to Brahmaa Jee and other Devtaa that she was in trouble because many Daitya had born on Prithvi and were troubling people there. She could not bear their burden so they should do something to relieve her, let she went to Rasaatal.

Brahmaa Jee said - "Let us go to Ksheer Saagar where we will tell al this to Shree hari." So all went to Ksheer Saagar and prayed Bhagavaan. Hearing Brahmaa's prayer, Shree hari menifested His manifested Vishnu Roop (form) and said to Brahmaa Jee - "Tell me what do you want and consider it done." Brahmaa Jee told Him everything asked Himas what they should do. Shree Hari plucked His two hairs - one black and one grey and said to Devtaa - "My these two hairs will remove all kinds of sorrows by taking Avataar on Prithvi. All Devtaa should take Avataar from their parts and fight with Daitya. My black hair will take Avataar from Vasudev's Devakee named wife and thus will kill Kaalnemi's Avataar Kans." After having said thus, Bhagvaan disappeared and Brahmaa Jee and Devtaa also went away to their Lok. Devtaa tok Avataar prepared for Hari's Avataar coming on Prithvi.

After this Naarad Jee came on Prithvi and told Kans that Bhagavaan would take birth from Devakee as her eighth child. Kand got very angry hearing this and he imprisoned Vasudev and Devakee. Vasudev fulfilled his promise - he gave him his every child to Kans. It is heard that Devakee's first six children were he incarnation of Hiranyakashyap's sons. By the inspiration of Vishnu, Yog Nidraa implanted them in Devakee's womb.

Shree Hari said to Yog Nidraa - "Hey Nidraa, Go and with my permission establish the six fetuses in Devakee's womb. When Kans had killed all of them, then you take my part Shesh from Devakee's womb and establish it in such a way that people should know that he is born from Rohinee. The world will say only that because of being imprisoned and fear of Bhoj Raaj Kans Devakee's seventh fetus got miscarriage. That fair complexioned man, because of being pulled out of Devakee's womb, will be known as Sankarshan.

After this I myself will enter Devakee's womb. At that time you also enter Yashodaa's womb. I will be born on Ashtamee (8th day) of Krishn Paksh (dark fortnight) of Bhaadrapad Maas (Hindi month in rainy season) and you will be born on Navamee. Vasudev will take me to Yashodaa's house and you to Devakee's place. Then Kans will strike you on a stone, as he will strike you, you will go to sky. Indra will accept you as his sister by bending his head and showing you a great respect. You will also kill Shumbh, Nishumbh etc thousands of Daitya and establish yourself at many places on Prithvi. You will be the only power known as Bhooti, Sannati, Shaanti, Kaanti, Aakaash (sky), Prithvi, Dhriti, Lajaa, Pushti, and Ushaa and if there is any other power in this world that is also you only. 

Whoever will pray you in the morning and evening with Aaryaa, Durgaa, Vedgarbhaa, Ambikaa, Bhadraa, Bhadrakaalee, Kshemadaa, Bhaagyadaa etc names, their all wishes will be fulfilled by my grace. Now you may go."

Yog Maayaa did as Shree Hari instructed her to do. She stablished six fetuses in Devakee's womb and pulled out the seventh one. Bhagavaan Himself entered Devakee's womb as her eighth child. Yog Maayaa also entered the womb of Yashodaa as per instructions of Bhagavaan. Devtaa prayed Devakee at this time.

Appearance of Bhagavaan

Paraashar Jee said - "Hey Maitreya, The day Bhagavaan appeared, saints got relief and environment got clean. Vasudev Jee saw Him in His Chaturbhuj form, so he also prayed Him and told Him to hide His Chaturbhuj Roop (form) because as soon as Kans will come to know that He was born he would kill him. Devakee said - "Please hide this Roop because Kans is born from a Raakshas." Bhagavaan said - "You prayed in your previous life to have a son like me, so I have fulfilled your wish by taking birth as your child."

After having said this Bhagavaan became quiet. Vasudev Jee came out in the same night. When he was going out, the guards became unconscious. It was raining heavily outside, so Shesh Jee followed Vasudev Jee shadowing him to save him from rain. Yamunaa'a water also remained low. He saw Nand and other Gop who were to pay taxes to Kans. At the same time Yashodaa gave birth to a girl. All got mesmerized by Yog Maayaa. Vasudev Jee kept his son there, picked Yashodaa's daughter and came back. Yashodaa got very happy to see a dark complexioned boy with her. Vasudev Jee brought the daughter to Devakee, made her lay there, and he himself also lay down.

After this the guards woke up hearing a child's cry and informed Kans about the birth of Devakee's child. Kans snatched the girl from Devakee and struck her on a stone. At the same moment she went to sky and said - "O Kans, What was your aim to strike me like this? Your killer has already been born. He was your death in your previous birth also, so you take care of yourself and she disappeared.

After this Kans called his chief Asur - Pralamb, Keshee, Dhenuk, Pootanaa, Arisht etc and said to them - "It seems that these wicked Devtaa have planned to kill me, but I consider them nothing in comparison to myself. Didn't you see that how Indra ran away with my arrows on his back? When he didn't rain in my kigdom, didn't I make rain piercing the sky by my arrows? Don't all kings, except my father-in-law Jaraasandh, bend their heads in front of me? Still I have to do something more to harm them. Kill all Tapaswee of this Prithvi. That girl has said this also that my killer has been born, therefore take special care of the new-born babies on Prithvi; and in whichever child you find special strength, kill him." Then he immediately freed Vasudev and Devakee.

He said to them - "I killed your children in vain, some other child has born to kill me. But you don't feel bad about them, because those children's destiny was like this. It was your bad luck that they had to die."
