TOP STORY: Benso Cavour ousts Giuseppe Mazzini for Presidency!
Venice - In an amazing turn of events Hawk candidate Benso Cavour defeated Dove Incumbant Giuesppe Mazzini for the Presidency of the Adriatic League. "I am happy for Benso" said former President Mazzini "he is a great man, I'm sure he'll continue to do great things." This would mark the first ever Hawk President in Adriatic history, despite this amazing echelon for the Hawk party the Dove party continues to dominate Parliament and as it stands President Cavour will have a tough time passing legislation, however he doesn't seem to be worried; "I understand the position I am in, there have been many issues that go unattended to since the last Presidency and I am dedicated to picking up all of the peices."

Adam Smith's Trading Company Giving Back to Community!
Amsterdam - Adam Smith, a powerful Scottish Merchant, has established his world headquarters in the Adriatic city of Amsterdam. "There were many cities around the globe that I was considering" said the Adriatic-born Merchant "Naimey, some in the South Pacific, but I decided I would keep [the business] at home." The Company is the highest grossing private business in the world and has decided to use its clout for good; "We are intent on giving back to the commuinty that provides us with revenue, we will be making hefty donations to the Adriatic government for social projects, we will help build libraries and schools as well as other projects to help further the quality of life here in the Adriatic League."

Final Norse Assault on Helsinki Compramised.
Helsinki - Deposed Norse King Leif Ericson made one final bid against the Adriatic League in the Baltic city of Helsinki. "Norse troops charged our positions in the Finnish woods, we quickly responded" said General Bartolo DiTucci "They were clearly no match for our superior weaponry." Most of the Norse brigade that was captured opted for Adriatic citizenship, a few were jailed. King Ericson was found dead from a self-inflicted wound in the outskirts of Helsinki.

Thousands Show for Socialist Rally!
Venice - At the Piazza Venetia in the city of Venice thousands upon thousands of supporters of the National Socialist Reform Party or "Nazzi" Party assembled to hear a speech from Nazzi founder Benito Mussolini who spoke out against the current form of Government. The former criminal turned Corporal, turned MP, turned founder of the Fascist Nazzi party said "We musn't allow things to continue in this way. Mazzini was a conspiring rat, Cavour is a political whore, the entire system is a wretched decaying pile of trash that must be desposed of." Mussolini has already announced his bid for President in the next elections and is intent on gaining Parliament seats for his party leadership, thus far only 22 of the 209 members of Parliament are from the Nazzi party.

Amsterdam To Hold United Nations Assembly!
Amsterdam, AL - The final and only real accomplishment of former President Giuseppe Mazzini has been realized, both the Axis and Pacific Pact alliances have deemed it fair that the Adriatic city of Amsterdam be the seat of the United Nations. "Although most of the heavy lifting was done under President Mazzini I am very intent on seeing that his vision become a reality" said president Benso Cavour. The member states shall be as follows; the Zulu Nation, Mali Nation State, and the People's Republic of China who comprise the Axis Alliance, the Australian Democratic Union, the Mongolian Republic, and the United Israeli States which comprise the Pacific Pact and of course the Adriatic League. No date has been set for the first assembly as of press time.

Isreal and Africa Finally Come to Terms!
Jerusalem, Israel - After years and years of "rogue" states assigned by the African states to Isreal, a "non-aggression" agreement has been established. This comes just days after Israel boasted to the world that they had incriminating documents against the Adriatic League and would show them to Africa. "Its quite a coincidence I must admit" said new Adriatic President "However these are sovreign nations, and I am sure this decision wasn't made with any haste." Nazzi leader Benito Mussolini charges that the Israelites can not be trusted and further alleges that the Africans may be "in bed" with Israel, no public retort has been made by the Adriatic Government towards these comments.

Before I begin, I would like to congratulate Benso Cavour on his victory. It was quite the contest between gentlemen and I hope to work with Benso in the near future, he was a hard working man for the French Province as an MP and I am quite sure he will continue his work ethic as President. I am saddened by the way the world has changed. These so called "secret documents" released by Israel against me and my staff were quite unfair and untrue as well. Antonin Rossi, one of the greatest men of our time as far as international politics go, was quite ashamed to be a part of this conspiracy, his career may very well be over due to the greed of The "Great" Raz. I asked for this forum to explain my position on these matters and to tell the world as a private citizen what had occured. The Adriatic League is in a bad position, everyone knows this but nobody likes to admit it, we were behind technoligically and asked Israel how much it would cost to purchase their technological know-how as far as Rail Roads are concerned. They gave us a price, which I will not go into at this time, and we told them that we would hear the Axis offer before accepting theirs. You know, just to see which was more beneficial. As it turned out the Axis' offer was better for us and we informed the Israelites that we would not accept theirs as we have recieved a better offer. Somehow this angered Raz greatly, he quickly said that this would destroy our trade relations, and that we are not allowed to deal with Africa unless we wish to be considered an enemy of Israel. I told him this was not a personal attack on Israel, it was just good business. Still, President Raz continued to threaten us, and told us he would ruin our reputation with the Africans. As President I felt that bending to the will of threats was not my proper role, therefore I told him to do what he felt was necessary, but we would accept the Axis terms. This is how this "conspiracy theory" was developed. Greed. Simple greed. I hope and pray that President Cavour can help heal the wounds caused by this event, I never intended on opening up aggressions with Israel again.
