Why a healthy diet is so important ?
It is because the food that you eat, may affect the nutrition(s) that you absorb. So a good diet is important.
Some people think that, more nutritious that people absorb, more healthy that people have.
There is a system in our body called " Digestive System ". When you are eating, the system will try to absorb the nutritious from the food. But our body like a box, it will be full in one day. If too much nutritious is eaten, the body will stop the absorption and the extra one will become the waste. So eat too much does not mean a good diet.
The Food Guide Pyramid
The Food Guide Pyramid is a practical tool to help you maintain a balanced diet. (It doesn't take into consideration calories.)
Recommended Daily Intake
2-3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs and nuts
2-3 servings of milk, yogurt and cheese
2-4 servings of fruit
3-5 servings of vegetables
6-11 servings of bread, cereal, rice and pasta
6-8 cup of water
Use fats, oils and sweets sparingly.
To make the most of the Pyramid, you need to know what counts as a serving.
A nutrition expert can help you develop a personal action plan for improving your eating habits while keeping the fun in food. A registered dietitian (R.D.) is an authority on food, nutrition and health, and can provide valuable information and advice.
