Co-hosted by AISEC Universiti Putra Malaysia and in cooperation with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies, HPAIR 1998 convened its seventh annual conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a major regional center for international trade and affairs. The year's conference theme was "Asia in Transition: Beyond the Miracle" and was held on 28 May - 31 May 1998
