Okay, this one's going to be complicated. Pay attention, because there will be a quiz at the end.. The adolescent Wonder Woman, horribly alone as the only child on Paradise Island, was granted a secret wish: a playmate of her own, a doppelganger who was, some months later, kidnapped by a being known as Dark Angel who believed her to be the real Diana. Donna Troy, as she became known, was then given hundreds of lives, each time being snatched back at the moment of greatest tragedy and sent back in time to experience another one. In one of these lives, Donna became a Titan: Orphaned at birth, Donna Troy was raised by the Titans of Myth, trained with other children from around the galaxy to eventually save the gods themselves. All the "seeds" were returned to their homeworlds as they reached adolescence, their memories blocked so that they could learn the ways of their own people. Inspired by the Golden Age Wonder Woman, Donna took the costumed identity of Wonder Girl. She became a founding member of the Teen Titans along with Robin, Aqualad, and Kid Flash. Over the years, the team grew and changed, but Donna, Dick and Wally stayed in nearly every incarnation. She graduated from college, became a professional photographer, and married college professor Terry Long. When the Titans of Myth restored her memories, she took the name Troia in honor of her newfound heritage. Then she got pregnant, and her child had the potential of godhood. In one possible future, her son became "Lord Chaos" and took control of the world. When the future conflict spilled into the present, she gave up her powers so that her son would be normal. She did, however, end up acting as the guardian of the future Team Titans. The stress eventually took its toll on her marriage, and she lost custody of her son. Around this time she was contacted by the Darkstars, an intergalactic organization similar to the Green Lanterns, and offered a position as the Darkstar of Earth. Donna accepted, replacing Ferrin Colos, and subsequently rejoined the Titans, where she met (and dated) future Leaguer Kyle (Green Lantern) Rayner. The Titans broke up, then Donna and Kyle broke up, then the Darkstars broke up, and Donna turned to Wonder Woman for support. Then her ex-husband, son and stepdaughter were all killed in a car accident, bringing her greatest life to its lowest ebb. Dark Angel returned to claim her. Earth's memory of Wonder Girl/Troia/Darkstar was erased as Donna was sent down another life of tragedy. In the battle to defeat Dark Angel, Donna herself was drained to an empty shell, yet the repeated lives had strengthened her soul to the point that she was no longer merely an avatar of Diana, but a being in her own right. Diana, using her powers as Goddess of Truth, used the Flash's memories of her life as a Titan to guide her, was able to restore her life and the world's memories of her. During the process, she regained powers similar to those she had been given by the Titans of Myth. She again took the name Troia and became a founding member of the latest group of Titans. P.S. Just kidding about the quiz. But if you think this "Dark Angel" stuff is complicated, blame John Byrne. Bio by Kelson Vibber
RELATIONS WITH THE CORE MEMBERS: Wonder Woman -
Amazingly, Wonder Girl never met Wonder Woman until she was an adult - and the name being
taken, she went for Troia. They became good friends, almost sisters, never realizing that
in a sense they really were.
