About one kilometre further on, just past
Lynch's Bridge at Ballarat Road, is Newell's Paddock Wetlands
Reserve. It's not particularly picturesque, but there's usually
plenty of water birds here, so it's worth stopping for a while to see
what's around. |

Approximately 1.5 kilometres further on, is
the Footscray Community Arts Centre, a lovely old bluestone building
with an amphitheatre. There's also a good cafe here.
To find out what's on at the Footscray Community Arts Centre, see
the links page.

At various places along the Footscray
section, you can see decorated underpasses and mosaics in the
pavement. |

Not long after the Footscray Community Arts
Centre, the Maribyrnong River path comes to an end, about 600 metres
short of where the Maribyrnong flows into the Yarra.
There's no public transport conveniently close to the end of the
path, so the best option is either to retrace your steps, or else to
finish at the Footscray Community Arts Centre, and walk a short
distance to Footscray railway station from there. |
