"Molo Soup"

Ingredients 1:
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken flakes
  • 1/4 cup shelled shrimps
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Chinese chestnut
  • salt, MSG, soy sauce, pinch
Ingredients 2:
  • 12 cups of chicken broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • pinch of pepper
  • salt
  • MSG
  • 1 tbsp. green onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. lard
  • 1/2 onion, chopped

[Molo Soup]Savor the taste of this mouth-watering soup called "Molo". This soup is sure to be a hit on the dining table.

Procedure:
  1. Combine all ingredients listed in "ingredients 1". Divide the mixture in two and wrap half of the mixture by a teaspoonful in pancit molo wrapper. Set aside the remaining half for the broth.

  2. To make molo wrapper: sift 2 cups flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt together. Add yolk of 3 eggs and knead with the finger. Add 1/4 cup water and work until the dough becomes very smooth and fine. Roll out on a floured board to about the thickness of paper. Cut in small triangular piece about 3" x 3".

  3. To make the broth: Saute garlic and onions; when slightly transparent, add half of the stuffing mixture and cook for a few minutes. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Drop stuffed wrappers in the boiling broth. Simmer with MSG, salt, and pepper. Cover and continue boiling for 6-7 minutes. Serve hot.
