The Art of Sparring

The next step in training is for you and your partner to try sparring. Which will improve your fitness and fighting skills each time you spar. When you spar at first please go light on each other, as both you and your partner will only improve when you use sparring for polishing off your skills and not for knocking each other out.

As you can see from the pictures taken from our club sparring, it is very hard to keep your guard and counter attack at the same time. When put under pressure from your sparring partner round after round. Each round should last for three minutes with a one-minute break between each round. We feel this is great for improving all round skill levels in punches and kicks by doing the following:

Two rounds of boxing (punches only)

Two rounds of punches and kicks above the waist only

Two rounds of Thai boxing without the use of elbows!!!!
