Third Wheel

Some anime women just can't help themselves. They can't seem to see that the match was made in heaven; they INSIST on their being the perfect match for the guys. Just look at Shampoo muscling in on Ranma and Akane!

These characters just get in the way of True Love, and it seems a bit unfair for the couples involved... (if you want the Frames version, try here)

I can see why the insane laughter of this gymnast would tick off ANYbody. Her hairstyle makes her look like a lop-sided chicken leg...she's nowhere NEAR as cute as her brother Kuno Tatewaki! And all those insane plots!

Okay, I admit Robotech was from the early days of anime, when it first began to filter outside of Japan. It also pioneered much of the stock elements of mechanime. Robotech (and NOT the original Macross) was a milestone in exported anime--BUT! The over-exposure of that nauseating Minmei, with her bad hair and her idiotic (shudder) dresses was beyond belief. I can't believe Rick Hunter (a.k.a. Hikaru Ichijo--thanks Derry) fancied himself in love with her! I pity the people marooned in the SDF-1--she was the closest thing they had to entertainment. They could only endure.

Disclaimer here: I got some flak from a reader about not specifying: this ultimately annoying Minmei is from the americanime (Robotech) version--you know, bad translations/voice actors, you name it. This girl ALSO said, She's got a reason to be after Ranma though. After all, Ranma defeated her in battle, which means in her tribe you marry the man who defeats you. Mousse hasn't defeated her yet! Point taken; I guess not.

     Talk about a whiner! All she does in episode 3 is bitch and give Keiichi dirty looks...Even after he shows her hospitality, she acts like a spoiled brat...reminds me of Akane, in that she jumps to conclusions before getting all the facts down.

That is pretty much true. I didn't like the way Skuld high-handedly decides she knows what's best for everyone. I pity Keiichi for having to put up with her.

          The very first time I saw her character was in the 2nd movie, "Nihao My Concubine" and she disgusted me sooo much. When Kasumi disappeared, the first words to come out of her mouth was, "OH! Then there's no one to cook for Ranma! I'll get to spend more time with him!" or something like that. HOW selfish can we get!!

Why can't she just go for Ryouga and get off Ranma's back? They seem to make a perfect couple, after all, and anything that prevents Ryoga's gloom and doom attitude getting the better of him would be good for him. The boy's just too depressed.
