Holier Than Thou

These girls think they're the greatest things to walk the earth, honest. They're constantly bragging about how much better they are, always presuming they can fix things (even though they mess it up just as often) and generally have that nose-in-the-air, holier than thou attitude, hence the category heading! That Asuka Langley is a royal pain in the *-*-*! The worst thing about her, I think, is that she thinks so highly of herself, and doesn't give any credit to the other pilots. It's unbelievable how she mouths off at them--even more incredible, neither of them think anything of it. If I were the one there, I would have clobbered her long ago.

I just can't stand the way she's constantly bragging about her skill, her superiority... She makes herself sound so good at everything. I wouldn't mind her constant bragging if she was actually as good as she claims to be. She is so insecure its pathetic. Note: Asuka Jenius rebuts: ...she has a healthy ego, yes, but at least she has personality and even Shinji knows she's just a kid at heart. Lane adds: Shame on you for including Asuka Soryu Langley...Sure, she risks drowning when it rains, but she was a hot pilot. The reason she deserves a reprieve from your list is that she's... Well, insane. In addition to the stress put on her as an Eva pilot, she carries the charming memory of finding her mother swinging from the rafters. So, give the little b#%ch a break.

From an annoying adult comes an annoying kid. This girl has no respect for her elders and betters, and doesn't care about anything she can't dictate to or control. Its partly everyone's fault too, I suppose. They always cave to her demands, especially that Mr. Satan! She's self-centered and far too sure of herself. Confidence is one thing, but her attitude is too devil-may-care, considering she's not on the same fighting level as her relatives.

I hear that she shapes up in later episodes, but since I've only seen the fist dozen or so episodes, I can't confirm that. This image courtesy of David--Thanks a lot!

For the daughter of the so-called "Universal Champion," she has a remarkable ability to get knocked out of the fight early enough so that Gohan and the rest can super saiyan-ize and save the world. She keeps pushing herself to keep up with them, but she can't can she?

Her greatest fault is her shameless encouragement of Gohan's debasement. By debasement I mean her cheering him on in his ridiculous "five man" poses. It makes for great comic relief, and the irony is apt, but I still can't condone her promoting Gohan's coming out looking like an idiot.
