Damsels in Distress

These Annoying Women of Anime are perhaps the most, most annoying of them all. They are Damsels in Distress, but unlike the fairytale stereotype where the evil witch takes advantage of them, these anime characters are in hot water because of their own actions!

I accept that without these girls always needing rescue, a good bit of storytelling would be impossible in much of Anime. However, do they have to continually fall into danger? You'd have thought they'd learned their lesson by now, but nooooooooo!

          She is so annoying!! all throughout the series of Marmalade Boy she is totally helpless, and she doesn't do anything! She is like arrghh! Just do something intelligent! She acts like she is a mindless idiot and that is the understatement of the year. She has these 2 rreaally nice guys and she doesn't do anything about it.

          We're talking the archetypical princess who pines over the man she loves and needs to be rescued. This girl is in serious need of a spine, and for that matter, a personality. This girl likes to talk to a hand puppet, and when captured, spends the time praying for Makoto to rescue her.

Note this is from the TV series, not the OAV series. The OAV series Rune Venus is much older and much cooler than this washed up version.

          I Hate Shilfiel! Everything from the fact that she's weak to her overall pompous-ness (Is that a word?) gets under my skin! She's always saying Gourry-sama this, Gourry-sama that, plus she clings to her beloved so much!! Heck, Amelia's better than Shilfiel, at least she puts up a fight! Actually, I like Amelia, not sure why, but that's a different story.....Anyway, SHILFIEL IS THE WORST ANIME WOMAN OF THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!

          How could you MISS THIS girl?? She is the most annoying obnoxious person in the entire SERIES (even more so than Amelia, which is pretty damned hard to do) That stupid soft voice got on my nerves every time I heard it, and the fact that she kept on calling Gourry "Gourry Darling/Dear" didn't help. TAKE the hint!! He's not interested in you that way!! GAWD!! Can't she do anything else besides blush and coo??? She actually made me GLAD to see Amelia!!

          I noticed that you consider all 4 of Ranma's well known fiancees annoying. However, Akane is much more annoying than Kodachi, Shampoo AND Ukyou combined: If she would not only admit her love for Ryouga Hibiki, but also confess that she's known his secret since day one, nobody would HAVE TO bash her...There's an excellent anti-Akane page at this address.
