Page 27: A Powerful Ally

 You have proven yourself as the best fighter in the Universtical and invented a new finishing move that totaly kicks babies.
You take a few minutes to weigh the pros and cons of including The Grimace in your party. For one thing, The Grimace has information that you desperately need. On the other hand, he just kidnapped you and tried to kill you. But the fact is that you've shown that you can take him out any day of the week and spank him properly. And by spank, I mean summon the power of the Duckbill Platypus. (see previous entry) Also, it would be nice to have a traveling buddy to hum the Alf theme with.
The odds seem to be for The Grimace joining you in your continuing quest for Funkyland. (Remember that? That's what this whole thing is about, idiothe)You decide to become The Grimace's sensei. Kinda like Mr Miyagi.



As The Grimace teleports you both back out of the Mortal Kombat II realm and back into that warehouse place from a few chapters ago, you reveal your intentions to him.
"The Grimace, I respect you as a fighter, a sage, and a big purple thing. I am going to allow you to become my apprentice and follow me on my journey to Funkyland because you have information that is valuable to me. But let me warn you: if you ever cross me again, the results will not be favorable. For you. Because I'm gonna kill you. And that's why they won't be favorable."
Have I mentioned that you're an idiot?
The Grimace pauses for a moment, then answers.
"Good sir or madame, you have bested me in the arena. I lost to you fair and square, and what's more, you spared my life. If for nothing else, out of respect for my lifedebt to you I will not allow harm to come to you as long as I'm around."
Awww, how sweet. If this were a movie, this would be the part where you and The Grimace start making out. Lucky for you this is a best selling Choose Your Own Adventure book.
