Castle of Eliv Thade Basic Gameplay: To escape, you must visit all four rooms, and collect an item from each, and then head to the Crypt to put the spirit of Eliv Thade to rest. Beware, this terrible spirit has been driven insane over the years and will do anything he can to stop you escaping his domain. You can move 1, 2, or 3 spaces using the mouse, but beware - each time you move Thade will give you an anagram, and the further you try to move the harder the anagram will be! Watch out for the cracked floor also - you don't want to fall into the basement, oh no, that would be bad! Tips and Strategies: 2. Never go for the cracked squares. There's a 50% chance you lose a life, so it's best and very easy to avoid landing on them. You don't have to solve 7-letter anagrams the whole way around to get a decent score, so go for the 5 or 6-letter anagrams when you must, to avoid the dangerous steps. 3. Use an anagram solver and take plenty of notes on words that give you trouble. This is by no means a guarantee for you to be able to successfully solve every anagram that comes up, as there are a number of words that are purely Neopet-ish in nature and others that are less common words that simply cannot be solved in this manner. For this reason, while using an anagram solver is a very big help, it is recommended that you keep a written list of those words you come across that are "unsolveable", for your own reference later. Be sure to set the solution limit to 1, to get the best results from your anagram solver. If there is an instance where more than one solution is available to you, go with the most commonly known words, or best guess if none seem any more common than the others. 4. Don't be afraid to use your Letter Hints. As you correctly solve anagrams, you can earn yourself up to 7 Letter Hints. While they are precious in that once you use them up you cannot gain more, you should be comfortable in using them in situations where it is better than loosing a life, since you only have 3 of those to spare. A good time to use them is if you have found that your anagram solver has given you more than one viable option and you are unsure of which word to submit. Using one or two letter hints can usually point you in a safe direction. 5. If you've played this game at all, you've likely become aware that there are two secret paths available. This becomes a very important factor when you realise that once you solve a room, you aren't allowed to go back through it. A good and simple route to take is: Left Bottom Room, Left Top Room, Right Top Room, Middle Room (from this room, simply click on the visible square directly below the left corner of the room, the hidden path becomes visible once you solve the anagram necessary to make the 3 step move), Crypt. 6. Using the general route described above, and making a few back and forth moves *right before* entering the Crypt should earn you a minimum of 322 points. Once at that score or higher, going to the Crypt and solving that final room will earn you a nice 1,000np pot for the win. Using this back and forth movement at the bottom before entering the Crypt is also the way to try and earn yourself a spot on the High Scores List. Be aware though, it won't be a quick thing so make sure you've the time and patience to work for it. |
