graduated from the North Hollywood High School Magnet with pretty near 4.0
GPA. I got accepted to UC Berkeley, but decided to go to Pierce Junior
College instead. I'm sure Berkeley would have given me a scholarship, but
I was young then. I moved on to CSU Northridge. I got a BA in Biology. Then while waiting on my last few classes, I found I could take just a few more and get a minor in Anthropology. So I did. It was fun, but those last few years started to drag on me. I was working full time, but still graduated with 3.x GPA. I had been working one horrible telephone customer service job after another until I ended up doing technical support for AT&T WorldNet. It was fun, challenging, and gave me free Internet access at work. I practiced my HTML skills between calls. Then I transferred to help teach new support reps technical skills as well as customer service skills. Then the results of my test for City employment came back and I was soon working at the Department of Water and Power, using my technical skills for the good of the Retirement Office. I promoted to Human Resources managing the PeopleSoft database and teaching users. So I am using the skills I gained working to pay for the knowledge I gained going to college. I'm sure I am not alone. It is not the function of our government to keep the citizen
