Sometimes the ghostbusters may
encounter strange critters with special abilities, like superheroes,
monsters, or aliens. Or you may want to run a super-powered ghostbusters
campaign where the ghostbusters run into Batman and Robin or may even have
superpowers themselves. Here are additional rules to allow you to create
critters or characters with Superpowers or Strange Abilities.
Power Levels
Normal mundane ghostbusters have 12 points to divide up among their
Traits. Supercritters and Superheroes get extra points they can use to buy
special abilities. The exact amount of extra dice depends on how crazy you
want your campaign. Here are some suggestions:

These levels are for characters
that are just starting out. Experienced superheroes and critters will have
more points. In this case, the exact amount will be determined by the GM.
Take your points and divide them
amongst your Traits and any Special Abilities. List the Special Abilities
you've chosen with the amount of points you put into them. The more points
you put into a Special Ability, the better you are able to use it.
Sample Superhero
Wolverine (Low Power, Experienced) 18 pts
Wolverine was subjected to inhuman
torture as his skeleton was replaced with adamantium, giving him claws
when he is angry. His mutant powers allow him to heal rapidly and he is
almost impossible to kill.

Here is an inexhaustive list of Special Abilities. A good GM can probably
think of several Special Abilities that are not on the list but should be.
Amphibious
(can breathe underwater and swim real
well)
Animate (you can animate inanimate objects or machines)
Cling (stick to surfaces)
Disintegration (annihilate a target)
Elasticity (stretch your body -- real far)
Energy Absorption (you are immune to one form of energy:
light, heat, etc.)
ESP (you can sense things at a distance)
Explosion (you can make things explode)
Fly (move your body through the air)
Forcefield (you are immune from attack for a short time)
Healing (you can heal yourself or others quickly)
Illusion (you can make other's see things that aren't
there)
Immunity (immunity to a disease, substance, or toxin)
Infravision (see in the dark)
Interdimensional Travel (go to another dimension
instantaneously)
Invulnerability (you are immune to one kind of damage:
fire, cold, mind control, etc.)
Jump (jump -- real high and far)
Longevity (live a long time -- real long)
Manipulate Element (you can do special effects with one
element: earth, wind, fire, air)
Manipulate Force (you can do special effects with one
force: electricity, sound, weather, etc.)
Manipulate PKE (you can do a number of PKE-related
special effects)
Manipulate Reality (you can change other's reality)
Manipulate Size (you can grow real big or shrink real
small)
Mental Blast (hurt other's minds without touching them)
Mimicry (copy someone else's superpowers for a short
time)
Mind Control (take over someone's body)
Multiplicity (split your self into duplicates)
Natural Armor (you are harder to hurt)
Natural Weapon (claws, horns, etc.)
Precognition (see the future)
Project <bodypart> (shoot a part of your body)
Project Microwave (cook your food at a distance)
Psychic Blast (hurt other's bodies without touching them)
Resurrection (you can come back to life if you are
killed)

Sonar Sense (use sonar like a bat or dolphin)
Speak with Animals (talk to animals and have them talk to
you)
Speak with Plants (talk to plants and have them talk to

Telekinesis (move things with your mind)
Telepathy (read other's thoughts)
Teleportation (instantly move your body from one place to
another)
X-Ray Vision (you can see through solid material)
