The Ghostbusters RPG rules seem ideal for running cartoon games: Cartoons are funny, the characters are caricatures, and no one ever dies. If you remember The Smurfs (and I only faintly do), you may want to play in the Smurfs world. As long as everyone is a Smurf or a human, you can use the rules "as is." But once Smurfs and humans start to interact you'll want to use my Scale Rules Addon.

The Setting
The Smurfs all live in Smurf Village in the middle of a forest. They have blue skin, and wear white pants and hats. I believe they are around 1 foot tall and are quite tasty (or at least the bad guys wanted to eat them). Most Smurfs use a descriptive adjective as their first name. When they speak, they often replace the normal verb (sometimes adverb, adjective, or noun) with "smurf," as in, "let's smurf out of here." Originally, all the Smurfs were male and around a century old, but then they got Smurfette (a young female Smurf) and a bunch of baby Smurfs (called Smurflings). An evil human wizard, Gargamel, and his cat (Azrael) live in a shack at the edge of the forest and spend all their time trying to capture a Smurf or find out the location of Smurf Village. They never succeed -- although they come close sometimes -- and every adventure ends in a half hour.

The Main Characters
The text descriptions below come from the Official Smurf web site, http://www.smurf.com/infos/who/qui1.html

Papa Smurf
You can recognize the village leader with his white beard and red clothes. Papa Smurf is no less than 542 years old - and no more either. He uses his wisdom to advise rather than tell people what to do. He often rescues the younger Smurfs from danger. He's also a pretty good alchemist.
