Alton examined the wound in question and found that the bone was not set properly, but instead was mending itself where broken. He grabbed hold of the lower part of Roedyn’s leg and bent it back out of shape until it broke again. Roedyn jerked upright and screamed before passing out again and falling to the bed unconscious. Alton then set the bone in place and then spent a full minute infusing the bone and leg with the healing energy of Pelor. During this time Smithik turned bone white and his eyes grew in wonder. When Alton had finished, Roedyn’s eyes fluttered open and he looked around the room. His eyes first came to Naphistra and Killian, both of elvin ancestry. His first words were a formal greeting in that beautiful language of the elvin people, “My eyes meet those of a friend whom I trust”. He then looked around the room and asked where he was.
A long conversation followed where the tired Roedyn related to the party about all that had befallen him on his travels. He told them of a fight between Omatar and Dorn. Omatar had been badly wounded during the fight, and Roedyn lost his ear. Dorn left Omatar and refused to heal him, and both he and Roedyn left him back before entering the sunless citadel.
He told the heroes of how they recruited the Hercule twins and entered the citadel. He also related about how he was separated from the rest of the burning blades due to magic being used against them from the goblins. After being separated, he found the stone door with the dragons carved on it. As he approached, the sound of mellow music entered his mind and the door swung open for him. Little was remembered after that until he found himself sitting in the middle of the desert on this planet.
He told them of how he had entered Williamsburg, gotten drunk of the strange ale on this world and killed six residents of that town. Jeb and the Sheriff saved him from the lynch mob, and during the time of his encarceration he got to know the Preacher and learned to respect his ways. The two of them then went off to Loban and cleaned up the town there. In Loban Roedyn tried to speak to a dying Engine who he had tied out in the sun a few days earlier. The man was unable to speak by then, and he and Jeb had a fight about letting the sinner go free. The Engine died, and Roedyn split ways with Jeb to look for the Engine’s land. He found it, but has been unable to enter the land on several attempts. The last being the worst of all. He injured his leg on a fall and barely made it to this settlement before passing out.
After relating his tale to the group, he answered a couple questions that had been pressing for some time, but he finally lapsed into unconsiousness and the party let him sleep while they purchased rooms from Jules at the General Store.
