Is
this really a Happy New Year?
State
of the Union Bush Avoids
In previous years, I celebrated the New Year like everyone
else. After 911, I have found myself contemplating the state of our nation
as the New Year arrives. Here are a few toasts to the New Year:
- Our border security is no better today than before 911 because Bush's
political will to defend our borders is missing in action.
- Tax slavery is as firmly rooted today as it was before George Bush
entered the White House. Taxes may have been cut, but spending has
not. Thus, tax increases will follow.
- Leadership in Washington is more concerned about winning the world's
popularity contest than in defending our nation. We citizens are less
secure today than before 911.
- We continue to throw enormous sums of money into global cesspools,
thus increasing future tax slavery.
- We now give more American dollars to terrorist nations than to non-terrorist
nations. The 4 billion plus to Pakistan and 2.3 billion to Yemen recently
are good examples. We give more money to terrorist nations than
we give to our own border patrol! Chew on that along with your
cheese and crackers this New Years Day.
- Thanks to Trent Lott, 10 years of progress on reducing reverse racism
has been wiped out. Look for full scale frontal attacks on the white
male.
- Thirty years of savings and investing has been wiped out for many,
thanks in large measure to the Fed's meddling in the free enterprise
system, excessive rate manipulation, etc.
- Attacks continue on business and the free market--it isn't just
the Democrats. Maybe this explains why we have seen three straight
years of a losing stock market.
- Bush has gone bananas, wanting to extend Social Security to Mexico,
even though we have a 6 trillion dollar debt and growing, and even
though the baby boomers will be retiring and adding huge pressure
to the Medicare/Social Security system.
- Both parties are anti-American and could care less about America's
security, both financial and military. They are doing their best to
trash our treasury and avoid defending our borders. We are open to
a weapons of mass destruction attack.
Happy New Year! More champagne anyone? Anyone?
Mr. Bush, I look forward to your State of the Union message.
