THE MORNING AFTER HOW WERE THE NETWORKS COVERING THIS HISTORICAL EVENT From the RNC: "The unprecedented, historic nature of last night’s results cannot be overstated. By adding to the margin in the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans accomplished last night what has never been done in a mid-term by a Republican President. And by taking the U.S. Senate back during a mid-term, Republicans have done what has never been done since the direct election of Senators began." 11/7/02Election Day 2002 was a "super nova" of political happenings. News organizations live for the rare "big show". So, how did the three major networks cover this historical event? At 845 AM Eastern time, on Wednesday, the Morning After, here was the coverage:
Katie, it was the morning after! If you wanted to talk to some old washed-up has been, you could have at least stuck to the subject matter and interviewed Walter Mondale. CBS: The host (was that Julie Chen? I don't know. I don't watch these commies) was interviewing actor Dennis Haysbert about some movie . . . or was it some TV show? I don't know. As I said, I don't watch these Hollywood commies. Can't say for sure which one it was. ABC: Good Morning America (just for today, it was called Bad Morning America in memorial to the Democrats trouncing) had some nurse holding a baby talking about fallopian tubes, eggs, and how the uterus was such an amazing organ that women could have children up to a ripe old age, only if the fallopian tubes and eggs would do their job. Isn't that nice that the Bad Morning America for Democrats hosts can talk about life in the face of death of their political party. Now can't we all imagine the standing room only crowd of socialist guests appearing on these shows if the Democrats had a sweeping victory. |
