31 "Do You Like Rich, Pretty Ladies?"
"Okane Mochi de Kirei na Onee-san wa Suki desu ka?" (お金持ちでキレイなお姉さんは好きですか?)

Sakuya came to visit again. She saw Nagi trying to train Tama some tricks. Sakuya stopped her immediately. She said that it is animal abuse and there is no way Tama is capable of knowing tricks, the same way as the animals in the circus is in a short time. Tama is grateful to Sakuya for saving his life while Hayate mention how great Sakuya is taming animals. Maria added that she did not just do that. She has taken care of children younger than she is before like what she has done to Nagi when she is not thirteen years old.

Hayate find out that Nagi once call Sakuya 'nee-chan'. Nagi become embarrassed and did not want them to talk about this anymore. Sakuya then said that she used to have many siblings and she has to take care of them in the past before. Nagi is one of them apparently. Nagi then said that if she has siblings too, she would be the same as Sakuya. Sakuya told her to prove it. And she tried. She then dress Hayate as a girl again and wants him to call her 'nee-chan' while trying to cling onto her. Hayate did but is beaten up Nagi later. She then said that she can really show her how she can be a elder among her younger counterparts if there are really kids for her to take care of. She tell Hayate to go find it now. And he did swiftly. Sakuya thought Hayate actually kidnapped them and attempt to strangle him to death. Hayate is quick to explain. He said that he found them at the gates and thought they are lost. Maria suggest calling the police but then the children cried no. Nagi then suggest that she will take care of them until their parents came. The children immediately thank her while leaving Sakuya speechless. The children then introduced themselves to Nagi. Nagi is glad to have Itsuki and Shunji here. She then call for her SPs to find their parents and they did in military fashion.

Nagi then think of how to take care of them while the kids ask Nagi every single item in the room how much they were. Sakuya then came in, telling her that she will be leaving something valuable behind. Nagi agreed and then find out what to do with them. She took the kids to her doujinshi room and get them to read doujinshi. Sakuya came in and then smacked Nagi on the head, saying that this is a bad idea. Nagi then call for Tama to play with them. But Itsuki and Shunji is too scared to do so. Sakuya hit her once again. Sakuya suggest going outside. And the kids agreed without a doubt.

When outside, Nagi then play hide and seek game with them. Nagi cannot keep up with them whatsoever. Hayate wants to take over her but she refused. Sakuya then talk about how lonely and unfriendly she is in the past and tell them how she took an effort to get Nagi hang out with people. The SPs continue the search for the kids' parents and then came up to Ayumu. Making her embarrassed, she knocked the SP down by herself.

At the end of the day, Nagi decide to cook for them. But knowing how she is bad at cooking, Maria and Hayate cannot help but be worried about it. After she is finished, Maria is smart enough to let Nagi eat her food first. She almost fainted instantly. Maria then say she will help her this time round. Just then, Hayate find out that they are missing. The kids actually went to steal Sakuya's briefcase and is found out by Sakuya. They tried to run away and Sakuya, together with Hayate, give chase. Finally finishing with the cooking, Nagi and Maria find out that the kids and Hayate were missing. They tried to find out and met Hayate and Sakuya outside the kitchen. Sakuya tell Nagi that a robber actually came in and kidnap the kids in fear of her knowing the truth and become sad because of that.

The kids is soon found by the Security Robots and is about to be captured when Sakuya and Hayate came, destroying the robots with some help from Sakuya's bodyguards. The kids then realize their mistake and tried to return the briefcase but Sakuya said that they leave with it. Hayate and Sakuya return and tell Nagi that the kids' parents has came to get them. Nagi is just happy about that.

The next mysterious dark butler came and compete with Hayate in a minicar competition. Hayate tries to find out who his competitor is and who sent him but he never be able to know that. Hayate eventually win the match and became determined to find out what exactly is happening over here and why someone is here after him.

32 "Welcome Demon Hunter Isumi, and Nabeshin"
"Mamono Hantā Yōkoso Isumi, to Nabeshin" (魔物ハンターようこそ伊澄、とナ㌱シン)

Recently, Hayate wasn't able to sleep well. It is due to the fact that Tama somehow tries to disturb his sleep every night. That is why he came to somewhere remote in the frontyard to avoid Tama and hopes to get some sleep. But then, an afro appear while Hayate relives being disturbed by Tama at night in a nightmare. It soon transformed into a human named Nabeshin (Watanabe Shinichi). Apparently, he is being invited into the anime because of its director, Keiichiro Kawaguchi. He then did the old opening introduction of the anime until Hayate stopped him and tell him about the new one. Hayate soon find out why he is here. It appears that he is one of the mysterious dark butler sent by Kirika. He then tries to shoot Hayate down with numerous arsenal of guns but soon decide to forget about that and start working as a director and producer of anime. Apparently, he has a deadline to meet and he did not have much time left. Him being Kirika's butler is just a part time job. And it seems that he hasn't slept or eaten anything yet for some strange reason. Hayate decides to treat him a meal, taking the man into the mansion and asking Maria to cook for him. As they watch him eat, Maria mention that his afro is interested and deserved to be protected?! He then ask if his family can come here to eat. But without even hearing the answer, his wife and daughter appeared in a brink of an eye, beginning to feed on the food on the table. Hayate is shocked. Nabeshin ask him to watch some program that he appear in but Hayate refuses. However, Nabeshin ask him why and chases him down along with his family until Hayate had enough. When he decide to think of a way to deal with Nabeshin, he saw his family apologizing for their husband and father's rude actions. Nabeshin's wife tries to explain why her husband is so wild and attempt to give Hayate something to apologize to him. But it appears that she is not giving it, she is asking him to buy. Hayate is furious. Out of options, Hayate decides to call upon Tama to drive them out of the house. And it did, chasing them away instantly. It is then that Maria told Hayate that Nagi request for him.

Apparently, Isumi is coming to the mansion according to Nagi and she is alone too. Nagi fear that she might get lost again. Hayate ask why she is always going out alone knowing that she will get lost in the end. Nagi just think that Isumi thought she is capable and independent. But it turn out to be the opposite. What's worse is that she is stubborn and never wish to admit it. And indeed, due to all that, she is lost again. Isumi thought she is smart though, thinking that bringing a cellphone with her will help her in this situation. Unfortunately, she soon realize that she did not know how to use it. That is when Sakuya arrives, smacking her head almost right off her neck. Sakuya has already seen what she is doing just now and learn that she did not know how to use a cellphone. Sakuya ask why she is here but Isumi did not answer. Sakuya knew that she is going to Nagi's mansion and decide to point the direction to her even though she wondered if she can make it there alone. Sakuya then decide to take her there much to Isumi's reluctance. On their way there, they met a man with a fishhead. This encounter startled Sakuya, forcing herself to distance from that fish-man as soon as she knocked it down instantly. Isumi isn't afraid though. She told Sakuya that he is a Tochigami (Deity that dwells in a property's ground). It appear that this Tochigami needs Isumi's help. It appear that a phantom is lurking in his lake and has driven him away due to that. Isumi decides to help him much to Sakuya's reluctance. Since Isumi isn't there yet, Nagi began to worry about her. Hayate volunteered to go find her. Isumi and Sakuya eventually followed the Tochigami back to his lake. On the way, Isumi told Sakuya that what exactly is a phantom and guesses that they will be facing a Phantom KHV (Koi Herpesvirus) since the Tochigami is a Koi (Carp). She ask what the phantom actually do to the Tochigami. The Koi says that it intend to eat him. Sakuya then said that Nagi would be happy to hear a story like that. Isumi then told Sakuya never to tell her that since she is so afraid of darkness. Sakuya then wonders when Nagi became fearful of the night. Isumi inform her that it is actually her fault. Just then, the phantom appeared. Isumi then began her assault on the phantom while it retaliates by creating clones larger than himself. The phantom began to attack Sakuya due to the Tochigami's badmouthing, and is quickly cornered. However, she is saved by Hayate before a leg from one of the clones can ever reach her. However, the clones attack both Sakuya and Hayate, eventually cornering them once again. Just as they are about to deal the last blow on them, Isumi appear and stopped them literally. She then use her inner power to exorcise the phantom. Hayate then find out that it is really Isumi that tries to scare Hinagiku off when he went to fetch Nagi's notebook for her in school that time at night. Eventually, Sakuya and Hayate took Isumi to Nagi's mansion. Once there, Sakuya and Nagi began arguing whether Isumi can still defeat the phantom without her dangerous help. Nagi and Hayate can only smile at them and agree that they are truly friends with each other.

33 "Why?! School Festival - Part One"
"Naze da?! Gakuin Bunkasai Zenpen" (なぜだ?!学院文化祭・前編)

Back to the darkest hours in school, Kirika attempt to decide which mysterious dark butler she is to send to capture Hayate. She seems to be getting tired of seeing her mysterious dark butlers being defeated by Hayate and decide to put that abduction plan aside. When she ask Shion whether the school festival is still on, Shion replied positively and state that there will be a lot of sweet snacks there as well. Just as Kirika decide to go steal them all, a mysterious dark butler spoke out significantly, demanding a chance to go against Hayate. When Kirika said that she is not interested in sending any of her mysterious dark butlers including himself to get Hayate, that mysterious dark butler manage to bribe her with sweet snacks of his own. He is successful in doing that.

The day of the School Cultural Festival, Hayate is seen looking at the arch hanging at the gates that reads the event of the day. Seemingly, he has sent overnight doing this due to the fact that the Student Council trio has requested him to do it for them. He is thinking about heading back to the mansion when the trio do whatever they can to have him stay for the duration of this festival so that he can help them. Hayate did not bear to leave them helplessly.

Back at the mansion, Nagi had her own solo cultural festival, selling her own manga. Maria notice this and ask why Hayate hasn't come back yet. She then request Nagi to go look for him at school and find out why, believing that Nagi herself would have liked to do the same. Convinced, Nagi ask Maria to prepare the SP to go with her. Just when Maria think that Nagi still have the childish side of hers, one look at the manga she has drawn changed her impression of her completely.

It appear that the School Cultural Festival of Hakuou Academy is a success with many people including celebrities and famous faces of this world visiting it. At the same time, Hayate is doing his part to make his own class event a success. However, it seems that the cosplay cafe or, to be specific, the butler cafe is only conducted by himself. The Student Council trio were actually playing cards and not helping at all. After Hayate went to plead to them not to be cruel to him, they did attempt to do their part much to their appreciation of Hayate's assistance of them. But it did not take long before Yukiji came in and took Hayate away swiftly, just as Nagi came in. Discovering that Hayate is gone, Nagi decides to go look for him.

The reason why Yukiji has taken Hayate is due to the fact that she cannot handle the problems that was faced by student vendors and event conductors of the cultural festival. Hayate himself could not handle it himself and eventually collapse due to numerous problems rushing into his mind. Thankfully, Hinagiku and assistant, Chiharu, were making their rounds at that time to make sure that everything happening in the cultural festival will not be ruined by its wicked superintendent. When she saw what happened to Yukiji, she confront her elder sister and virtually scared her away. She then ask Haruko to deal with the rest and took Hayate away herself.

She eventually brought him to a quiet spot in school and offer takoyaki. She ask him to rest and relax and at the same time, thank him for what he has done thus far. Hayate is happy that someone really show appreciation for him right now. However, it did not take long before he almost become food for one Jormungandr, the enormous snake owned by Kirika.

Nagi is seen still searching for Hayate and now without her SP along. She started to feel the pressure being alone in the crowded place when a fortune teller nearby ask her whether she wants to know her fortune. Initially, Nagi did not think of bothering him. But when the fortune teller states that he is good at love relationships especially the ones between master and butler, she is seen sitting right in front of him next. As the fortune telling starts, the fortune teller ask Nagi to look into the crystal ball. When she did, Nagi is immediately hypnotized by her to do his bidding. That is exactly what he did later.

Hayate is seen being spitted out by the snake and manage to get a souvenir out of it. Hinagiku immediately ask why Kirika is here with Shion. Shion just say that she is relaxing right now, off duty at this moment. she then remember Hayate returning the prize for winning the Battle Butler Tournament back to the school and ask him why. When he keep mentioning Nagi, she merely cut him off, asking if he has only Nagi in her mind. Just then, a phone call is received by Hayate. It is Maria calling him asking whether he has seen Nagi. She also did say that she cannot contact the SP. The SP is enjoying a concert by a cute singer right now.

After the call is over, Hinagiku ask who called and why. Hayate just tell her that it is Maria asking about Nagi and he is ready to go and search for her. But he did not need to as Hinagiku just tell him that Nagi is right behind him. While Hayate is stunned, Nagi say that she wants to take Hayate somewhere. She ask him to follow her and he and Hinagiku did, following her all around the school until they reach the old abandoned school building. Apparently, that is the plan by the mysterious dark butler, Puppeteer Limited to Once. He manipulated Nagi to lure him here so that he can attack him with his mecha looking like a dinosaur. Determined to wake Nagi up, Hayate decides to attack this mysterious dark butler but find it hard with the mecha' tremendous offensive arsenal.

But when the mecha's missiles actually miss Hayate and hit the school, Hinagiku, in the name of protecting the school, attack the mecha, managing to destroy one of its optical sensors. But she is soon captured by the mecha and saved by Hayate later. Somehow, when both of them are ready to take out the mecha together, the mecha self destructed and took the mysterious dark butler with it. Even though the battle is over, Nagi is still under hypnosis. Nagi swore to teach everyone what the real Japan culture is and Kirika appear intending to help Nagi. Hayate can only watch as Nagi left with Kirika while Hinagiku wonder Nagi is really under hypnosis.

Meanwhile, Ayumu's school is having its sports day today as well. Ayumu just break a egg on the ground during a 'carrying the egg with a spoon' event.

34 "Why Did It Die?! School Festival - Part Two"
"Naze Shin da?! Gakuin Bunkasai Kōhen" (なぜ死んだ?!学院文化祭・後編)

At school, Nagi is determined to show the world what real Japan culture is, announcing it to the world once again. She then order Shion to help her shade the black spots from her manga strips. Shion immediately complaint to Kirika, questioning if she has to obey her. Kirika simply say yes, imagining how Hayate would look with Nagi seemingly abandoning him like she is right now. Shion can only feel helpless about this.

At the mansion, Hayate tries to tell Klaus how much he is worried about Nagi who is with Kirika right now. Klaus, who did not know Kirika well, simply think that Hayate is just being overly concerned especially when Nagi has already phoned back to say that she will be staying in school overnight. Klaus is still unmoved. Maria later tell Hayate that Klaus, besides not knowing who Kirika is, he deem that Nagi wouldn't do anything that wouldn't surprise him. Hayate is impressed by how Maria can be this understand about Kirika. According to her, it is probably due to Kirika being just abnormally weird.

Just then, Hayate's mobile phone rang and it appear that Hinagiku is calling him. He is told to go to the school right now which he did and saw the Cultural Festival being turned into a Comic Festival. Hinagiku states that this must be Nagi's doing since they can see everything related to anime, manga and doujinshi everywhere. Both of them soon head to the Student Council Office to discuss what they are to do with this. Before entering in, Hayate is out at the balcony, seeing the masses below him. Inside the office, Hinagiku wonders how they are going to fix this mess that Kirika created overnight. Hinagiku is simply concerned about the safety of people down there. It is at this moment that Hayate came in and said that he wishes to search for Nagi.

It did not take long before Shion enter as well, telling everyone there that she will lead them to her. Everyone decide to trust Shion and follow her to another portion of the school where Nagi is. Shion explain that she wants Nagi out of here because she is just too troublesome for her. When they reach a room, they did found Nagi along with towers of doujinshi she has drawn. Apparently, Nagi did not know Hayate anymore. She even states that Hayate isn't someone who would abandon her at home because of the Cultural Festival. Hayate can only feel anguished that he did. Just then, Kirika came in and issue a challenge to Hayate and Hinagiku that she will revert everything back to normal and even give Nagi back to Hayate if they would win a competition of sales between Nagi's doujinshi and Hayate's.

Hinagiku has no other choice but agree to that. The competition began swiftly with Nagi's doujinshi being advertized by cute girls dressed same the main character. On the other hand, Hayate's side look cold. The Student Council trio tries to check him up to the point that they even ask him to forfeit so that they can see Hinagiku in a maid costume. But Hinagiku reminded them that they too will have to do the same since they are a part of the Student Council as well. That is all she need to motivate them to try to win the competition. Hayate is influenced by that and his will to get Nagi back, commencing with his plan.

It appear that his plan is to create a doujinshi that actually instruct the reader to learn how to make cakes. It appear that his plan is starting to work as Kirika hear from Shion that the sale of doujinshi at his side is gradually increasing. There is even a show that introduce his class's butler cafe to the world. It even interview Hayate and ask him why he actually is doing this right now. It is from the show that Maria and Klaus know about this.

To compete with them, Kirika decides that for those who bought Nagi's manga, he will enter a contest that will win them prizes. At the butler cafe, Koutarou and Kaede decides to help Hayate out because of Hinagiku. The Student Council trio still think about letting Hinagiku wear a maid costume even if they won in the end. Hinagiku interrupt their conversation with Hayate swiftly. With that, the battle heats up. In the end, Nagi's manga were sold out. Nagi decides to leave and go find Hayate when she meet someone mysterious while heading there. He persuade her to turn back being stubborn and stop hating Hayate no more literally. Apparently, she did.

At the butler cafe, Hinagiku inform them that they are just a bit more before they will tie them with the sales. She urge everyone to continue the fight as Hinagiku check on Hayate who wishes Nagi will be able to experience the feeling of teamwork. Hinagiku notice that Nagi is just outside and let her in. Nagi said that she is here because she want to see their beaten faces. Nagi eventually ate the cake meant for her and allow the hypnosis to fade away. Once she recognize Hayate, he hug her happily, knowing that she has finally come back.

Just then, Kirika and Shion came in proclaiming that they have won and have maid costumes waiting for the Student Council members. Just then Nagi's mobile phone rang and it is Maria who called. Apparently, she wishes to buy some cake for about 2000 people. Her order came in the nick of time before the time limit expired at 6pm. It is clear that Hayate and others have won. At night, Hinagiku ask how Nagi's hypnosis wear off. As she asked that to her student councilors who has no answer for her, Nagi took Hayate out who is in an usual cat costume. Hayate is just too embarrassed to be cross-dressing at the closing ceremony of the Cultural Festival and run away from Nagi. Nagi gives chase while Hinagiku can only wonder how Hayate is to deal with the stubborn Nagi in the long run. At the same time, Kirika, seeing Hayate cross dressed, wants him again. Shion can only complaint helplessly.

Hayate is looking for Nagi in the mansion everywhere but just cannot find her. All of a sudden, she appear in a sailor uniform and address him as senpai. Hayate is shocked. He wondered what Nagi is doing cosplaying like this when Maria arrives telling him that Nagi is trying to draw a new manga about youth love story right now. She is trying to find ideas and cosplaying is part of her thinking process. However, this way of generating ideas isn't working for her. Just then, she thought of ordering Hayate to get her some reference for her manga. She wants him to take down using a camera the trendy date spots teenagers go for nowadays. Hayate hopes not to do that but the pissed off look on Nagi's face says otherwise. Leaving him with no other choice, Hayate change into civilian clothing and is trying to decide where he can find the needed reference when Maria suggested a place for him. When he realized that it is Maria who is in her own civilian clothing, he then ask the obvious question whether she is coming with her. That is exactly what she said next. Hayate had no objection to that. As a matter of fact, he is elated.

After it is agreed that they will go out together, Hayate ask Maria why she would think of coming with him. She replied that Nagi wants time alone because she cannot concentrate when people is around which mean Maria and Klaus as well. That is why she gave them both day off today. Klaus did not seem to like the idea at all. And since it is so sudden, Maria decided that she would just go with Hayate. He simply cannot believe his luck today. Back in the mansion, Klaus complained why he is given a day off. Nagi literally rebuked him for being noisy. Hayate and Maria began their day of getting references for Nagi at a place called Harajuku. Taking photos of places of interest as they go, Hayate assume that he has the photos that can be deemed as a reference at this location right now. Maria suggest they go to Takeshita Street. She seems to know that street very well even though all the shops she mentioned were long gone, replaced by new ones. Hayate can only wonder when is the last time she ever went out with someone. Hayate then decide to make use of the guidebook he has brought to continue his reference collection. Just then, he discover that Maria is missing. He found her quickly staring at some clothings of a shop nearby. Hayate immediately ask whether Maria wants to try on some clothes. Maria declined at first. But when Hayate said that it would be a good reference as well, Maria instantly grab hold of Hayate and flee to the closest place where she can try on clothes like there is no tomorrow. Seeing her excitement in doing this, Hayate can only agree that she is a normal girl as well. When asked if she can go try on the clothes, Hayate allowed without hesitation. And thus started her cosplaying event. Hayate is even forced to change as well, wearing clothes exactly matching Maria's. They were a bit embarrassed by how matching they were in those clothing.

Meanwhile, the Student Council Trio and Yukiji is seen nearby having an afternoon snack in a cafe. It appear that they are here because Yukiji said that there is a civilization that sells live bamboo shoots. It appears not. As Izumi complain that they have just got here and have no intention to return back to school and sleep, she saw Hayate and Maria walking together. They recognize Hayate immediately but thought that he is going out with a girl. They soon recognize that it is Maria and before long, Yukiji and the trio decided to help Hayate in improving his relationship with her. Somehow, Hayate and Maria felt awkward walking with each other right now. It appear that they did not know what to say to each other at this moment in time after being mistook as a couple by the shopkeeper a while back. Hayate use this topic to start the ball rolling, wondering how weird that is. Maria agreed and they both laughed to the point that they even find that awkward. Just then, Yukiji and gang appeared wearing afros. Yukiji said that she is a genius photographer while the trio are her assistants. Hayate somehow felt that he has seen them before and Maria agreed. It is a wonder how Yukiji's and the trio's disguise is able to fool them.

It seems that these fake photographers wants them to be their models and Maria did not seem to mind at all. Hayate is persistent not to be fooled by them. However, he manage to give them the camera where Yukiji started taking pictures at random, or to be specific, at Maria. Hayate finally had it and snatch the camera away from them, taking off with Maria. Meanwhile, Nagi still cannot put her ideas into drawings. She tries to call for Hayate and Maria and realize that she has sent them away. Thus, she decide to get some tea for herself and a little walking will prove to be refreshing for her. Just then, she realize that she is about to walk past Hayate's room whose door is left open. Suddenly, she has the urge to enter the room but tried to stop herself from doing so. After struggling with herself for the moment, she is able to convince herself not to go in. However, her pen went into the room instead. Nagi can only blame luck for that.

Eventually, she enter the room with the thought of retrieving her pen. However, when she saw the desk Hayate use, she cannot help but get excited. She attempt to lean onto the table but become embarrassed, realizing what she is doing. She then cannot help but lie on Hayate's bed, claiming that she is tired. However, she then hug Hayate's pillow like she is hugging Hayate. She immediately jumped out of the bed, wondering what she is doing again. She then decide to just leave the room but that is before she get her pen first. When she found it under the bed, she notice something. She thought she see some eroge down and decide to check it out. She is stunned to realize it is not eroge. Instead it is a magazine about something more sinister than eroge. She immediately throw it back underneath the bed and is frustrated by what she saw. However, it turn out that the magazine isn't Hayate's. It is our good friend, Tama and he admit it as well. Hayate and Maria went to Asakura next. They spent some time over there, not realizing how they were doing to each other. Once they did, they are surprised, wondering why they are acting as a couple right now embarrassingly. Just then, a rickshaw puller with her assistants arrived. They claim that they can take people to all the trendy date spots. Giving it a try, both Hayate and Maria hopped in not knowing what they are into. The rickshaw pullers that happened to be Yukiji and the Student Council Trio took them to places definitely not trendy date spots. After heading to places that is not related to that, they return back to Asakura. Maria is happy to have this rare experience of visiting places that they seldom go. And while Hayate agreed with her, his camera is taken away by one of the rickshaw pullers. The pullers finally revealed themselves to Hayate and Maria and started taking photographs. Hayate had to take off with Maria once more with his camera of course.

They soon came to a harbor and boarded a tourist boat to avoid Yukiji and the trio. Meanwhile, Ayumu is seen making a cake and is awe by the fact that Klaus has made a cake so superb that Ayumu's little cake cannot compare. Ayumu is depressed due to that. While on the tourist boat, Hayate thought that he and Maria has finally get rid of the trio and Yukiji. However, they soon notice them heading their way with a leg powered duck boat. In order to prevent them from chasing them anymore, Hayate thought of this marvelous plan. As expected, the duck boat crashed onto the tourist boat and allow Yukiji and the trio to continue their chase for Hayate and Maria, only to realize that they are about to witness a tragedy unfolding. Suddenly, Maria said not to come close to her. She is actually talking to Hayate with him asking why. Maria said that she cannot be with him as she cannot forget someone else even though he is never there for her. Hayate urges her to forget about that man and be with him. But Maria said she can't. She is too much in love with him. Hayate is anguished. After Maria tell him to forget about her, she run away as soon as the boat reach the harbor. Hayate give chase but to no avail. He is seen screaming at a rock and the ocean.

Witnessing the end of a love, Yukiji and the trio finally decided to leave them alone and went to have their dinner next, not forgetting to leave the camera behind. It seem that Hayate's plan worked as he retrieve the camera and meet up with Maria later. As it seems, all of that is just an act. Maria wonder who they are but Hayate persuade her not to think about them anymore. He suggest they go back to the mansion now and not let Nagi worry about them when Maria suggested they ride the Ferris Wheel. They did. While on the Ferris Wheel, Hayate thank Maria for accompanying him today. Maria have the same sentiment as well towards Hayate. But she hope that the next time he do that, it will be with someone he liked. Hayate did not know what to say. Hayate did suggest they take a photograph with each other. Maria agreed. Unfortunately, that is something Hayate would regret later. When they return and Nagi look at this photograph, she is eyed red. She literally punched Hayate right out of the mansion in fury, finding it hard to believe that he is actually having fun out there when she is stuck here having so much trouble. She just cannot help but beat him up. Hayate is truly unlucky.
