Rites of Passage
First bonding (Season: Spring)
An elf's first bonding generally occurs when s/he is around 5-7 years old, and wolf pups, kits ect. Are born in early spring are five to eight weeks old. It's never been heard of that a cub bonded first with an adult wolf, although there's no reason why it shouldn't be possible. Cubs of both species just seem to have more in common than a cub and an adult.
First hunt (Season: Any)
First hunts generally occur when an elf is around 10 years of age and when the hunt leader or chief feels the cub is ready. Usually 1-3 adult elves accompany young hunters on their first hunt. The cubs are allowed to choose their hunting territory and prey (within reason) and are expected to bring down the kill themselves. Most cubs want to undergo this rite of passage but if someone doesn't want to hunt, no one will force him/her to do so.
Soul Name Search (Season: Any)
Though some elves know their soul name from birth, all do not. The soul name search occurs when an elf is between the ages of 15-20 years. The young elf wanders away from holt without his/her bond friend while searching through meditation for his/her soul name.
Name Changes (Season: Any)
It is possible that an elf takes other name as s/he ages. The elf may simply choose an adult name, usually after successfully completing soul name search, or due to some special circumstance. New names may also be given by others, especially the chief.
