Below are descriptions of common and/or possible weapons. Of course there are not _all_ the possible weapons, basically anything invented before gunpowder is allowed. (Unless you happen to find something really weird I wasn't aware of.)

Daggers/knives

Can be made of greymetal, brightmetal, bone or stone (usually with a bone or wood hilt). Brightmetal is very rare and very hard to find. Mostly found in Troll cavers. Some elves do have daggers and knives made from gems or precious stones. However they are much, much heavier than those made out of metal, bone or stone. Some elves also have brightmetal daggers they had with them when arriving to Shadow Dream.

Swords

Swords are usually all made of brightmetal, troll-made mostly and wielded by warriors. Hunters and other usually use swords made from greymetal. They may be big or small, curved or straight. Often troll-made swords are heavy and hard to wield, but some troll daggers make excellent short swords for elves.

Spears

You all know what a spear is, right? Spear points are made of bone, stone and greymetal. Shafts are usually made of wood. Some favor longer spears, some shorter. Longer spears have the advantage in reach, but they are more difficult to carry around on wolfback or up in the trees, and impossible to throw. Fishing spears often have barbs to keep the fish from slipping away and back to the water.

Javelins

Javelins are short throwing spears, maybe up to their user's chest from the ground. Used mostly for hunting or fighting.

Bows

Bows come in a variety of forms. There are crossbows they are a troll weapon, and if a elf dose have one the either stole it from a Troll or killed one to get it. Long bows and short bows. Each has strong and weak points.

Crossbows have long range, inflict most damage and are easy to hit target with. Unfortunately they are also slow and hard to load. If you are against a longtooth with a crossbow, the first bolt must kill, because you won't get a second chance!

Long bows also have a long range, but like the name says, they are long, usually close to the height of their user, and therefore may be difficult to carry around.

Short bows are smaller, but also have shorter range.

Elven bows are usually something between a long and short bow. Not too big but with moderately good range. They are usually made of wood. Arrows may have bone, stone or greymetal points.

Staffs

Staffs are defensive weapons, rarely used to hunt. They are practical for wanderers, though, doubling as walking sticks, and also used to measure the ground ahead in difficult terrain (like swamp). A staff can be spontaneously cut from a nearby tree and thrown away when no longer needed, but those who keep one staff for longer periods of time, often decorate them somewhat, with feathers, for example.

Slings

Sling is usually only used to hunt small game. Although in theory you could kill a tuft-ear cat with it, few are foolish enough to try. A sling is easy to make, and relatively easy to learn, but to be accurate requires lots of practice. Most cubs learn how to use a sling first before any other weapon.

Darts

There are two types of darts. You have throwing darts and mouth darts. They are a short range weapon.

Throwing darts are small peaces of wood with tips on them. Some have bone, graymetal, or stone tips others are just sharpened to a point and they have feathers on the ends of them like a arrow. They are about the length of an elves hand. They are usually tipped with some kind of poison. They are a good stealth killing weapon but it is very hard to kill with a dark. If the poison on it is not a fast reacting poison and it is thrown to kill the user will be in trouble.

Mouth darts are exactly like Throwing Darts only differences is they fit in your mouth. Instead of throwing them you spit them. They are very short. If one uses mouth darts than one must be very careful not to prick themselves and infect themselves with the poisons that they are tipped with. Sometimes Mouth Darts are made out of brightmetal but elves only get those made out of brighmetal if they are experts at mouth darts and use them often.

Poisons

Poisons are usually used by poison experts. They put poisons into drinks and foods if they wish to kill someone or hurt them. Most Poison experts however make the poisons for those who use them on there darts or arrows. It is found that mostly only poison experts use darts tipped with poison.

Magic’s

There are a lot of magic’s that can be used as a weapon. However some half to be very strong to be used as a weapon. Some of those would be Shadow Shaping. Shadow Shaping can be made solid but not razor sharp. Blood Shaping, it can be come a sword, Web Weaving, and there are a few others.
