Well, you probably have already heard of me. I'm
Blaine, the leader of the Cinnabar Island Gym. My
Pokemon have a powerful flame that only the best
trainers can stand up to. Ash was one of the few
strong enough to defeat me, and one of the first
to discover my new gym. His Pikachu couldn't put
up with the heat of the volcano, so Ash sent out
his Charizard. It seemed completely out of
control, but he somehow still managed to succeed.
I admire that boy's courage and determination. If
you see him around, wish him luck for me. |
Hmm... What brings you to the Cinnabar Island
Police Station? You haven't had any encounters
with the police before, have you?? Oh, I'm sorry.
I'm getting too suspicious again, huh? It's those
sneaky Rockets: Jessie, James, and Meowth--they
have me suspicious of everyone. Well, I better go
keep a look out for their tricks. If you're

Hi, welcome
to Cinnabar Island. My name is Nurse Joy. Oh, did
Officer Jenny tell you to come here? She's been a
little suspicious of most tourists ever since
Team Rocket was here. I can see why, since they
almost destroyed the entire island. I heard it
was when a trainer named Ash Ketchum had just
discovered Blaine's new gym in the volcano. Team
Rocket wanted to steal Blaine's Magmar, so they
tried to freeze it. Apparently, they froze the
entire wall of the volcano, causing it to erupt.
Blaine, Ash, and his friends all used their
Pokemon to try to stop it, and luckily they were
able to. It seems that Team Rocket hasn't
returned since then, but Jenny doesn't take any
chances! |
Battle against
Blaine: The public is literally locked out of this gym.
To enter, you must first get the key from the Old Mansion
next door. Once inside the gym, you can choose to answer
the questions by each trainer in order to pass, or battle
them. Water Pokémon work well against these Fire
Pokémon, especially a Gyarados or a Blastoise.
