Hey,
there baby. I'm Lt. Surge, leader of the
Vermillion City Gym. I call everyone who
challenges me "baby" until they can
defeat me, because until your skills are good
enough to beat me, you're nothing but a rookie. I
remember Ash Ketchum. I sure underestimated him;
I never would have thought his baby Pikachu could
beat my Raichu. Yeah, I used to think you had to
evolve a Pokemon right away to win, but Ash and
his Pikachu proved strength isn't the only way to
win. Well, we each have our own way of winning,
and I really believe that kid can make it to the
top. I'll never underestimate that kid again. |
*Yawn* Team Rocket actually
didn't try to do anything bad when they were
here. What a relief, we can rest easy. Even when
they do try something, they hardly ever succeed,
but they can still cause a lot of damage. I
really don't know much about Pokemon Trainers and
battles around here. Nurse Joy knows a lot about
that, maybe you should talk to her. zZz...S.S.
Anne leaves without you.....In Pokemon Yellow,
I'm awake and trying to find a home for a
Squirtle...What do you mean "I talk in my
sleep", Joy?...zzZzz.. |
Hello there,
welcome to the Pokemon Center. It's pretty busy
here most of the time due to the Trainers who
battle Lt. Surge. A lot of trainers end up with
severely injured or exhausted Pokemon while
trying to earn a badge from him. I had always
thought a Trainer's only hope to defeat him would
be an Evolution Stone, but a Trainer named Ash
won with an unevolved Pikachu. I remember the
first time he went to face Lt. Surge he was sure
he would win. When he lost, I offered him a
Thunder Stone, but he left the decision to his
Pikachu, which refused. Someone gave him the idea
to use the speed attacks that only an unevolved
Pokemon could learn. I had never thought of that.
Oh, dear--another patient, I have to be going.
Enjoy your stay! |

Battle against Lt.
Surge: If you have any ground Pokémon (Diglett or
Dugtrio is best), equip it with Dig. The Cut HM gets you
into the gym, then you must undo the
electric lock.
Yellow Version
Raichu LV28 (Growl,Mega Kick,Mega Punch,Thunder
Bolt)
Can
you remember which episode this is from? (Answer in
"Who's that Pokémon?")
