Mirc

This is the basic irc-client, very popular, easy to use and updated frequently.  A good choice if you just want to chat and download a few files.

Polaris, Syris, Invision

These are adaptations of the basic Mirc program.  They add a lot of extra functions to the basic Mirc program like advanced file servers and tools to block spammers.  These adaptations are ideal if you download a lot of files or if you want to run your own server.
