A Story Of True Love

There was a three year difference in their ages, and they met while he was in high school, he in the 10th grade, and she in junior high,7th grade.

Even though there where 10 city blocks that would separate them,distance will never stop the destiny of two stars from crossing paths.

She lived across the street from the JR. High School, where after school there would be school faculty around so the neighborhood kids could come there to play, and stay out of trouble. He and his friends would meet there and start a football game. All the neighborhood girls would come to watch them. Her being one of them.

He worked at the local fish and poultry market, so when her Mom would send her to the grocery store she'd find her way to the fish market, to say hi and ask pertinent questions like, "You real busy today?" "How you been?" just small talk to be around him more.

Their love grew and they married not once, but twice! They had 5 children, 19 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Over the years there were good and bad times. Their love survived it all. Then she was diagnosed with cancer, He was by her side through it all. Sadly, that was the only obstacle they couldn't overcome and on July 23rd, 2000, the light from the star named Ethel became the Angel the Lord called her to His home.

He now has to go on without his angel by his side. But her star will live forever and keep light and warmth within him. She is in Heaven, now watching over him, their 5 children, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

On December 21st, 2000, they will celebrate 50 years of love. Her spirit, laughter, and love lives on in the hearts, and minds of them all, and many others.
