Updates Members Terminology Design notes
We're busy revamping the House. We're not gonna pretend that it will be safe to explore when it's finished, let alone now. Enter as you dare. Should you decide to explore, any injuries incurred must be reported, catalogued and...examined. Males must report to Caoiloch, females to Erloch. No exceptions.
Warning: The histories of the majority of Taratus are explicit, and House Rh'thaou is no exception. In our case, this applies to gore especially, with strong language and sexual themes. You have been warned!

Currently, all profiles are technically up, but only the following are finished: Brirer, Caoiloch, Dagor, Erloch, Orah, Sylnes, and Zangre. Of the story, the following have substantial text available: Part 1, which puts the majority of the House in the jungles of Earth, Part 2 which is their Search story, Part 4 which is about a fateful trip to Dracania, and Part 5, which is Brirer's story and "finished," up to the hatching. And if you are wondering where the rest are... well, I haven't finished writing them yet. Hee... ^_^; However, let it be known that there is story on every page.... I'm working on it...

Terminology
The members of the Clan Taratus are individuals who have something in common: their ability to shape-shift is not natural. Through the miracle of genetics and gene splicing and the like, the best (and worst) traits found in humans and animals find themselves in one host body. But the terminology these genetic supermen have adopted can be confusing. Below is an attempt to explain them.
Taratus: A true Taratus is one who was born a shape-shifter. Some are actually incapable of shifting their form between human and animal, stuck in the realm in between. An example is Shalazan, a velociraptor-shifter turned assassin. She looks almost human with some obvious differences. Other true Tarati are capable of shifting through the whole spectrum, from fully human to fully animal to something in between. Examples include Erloch, Caoiloch, and the entirety of House H'thraai.
tarat: The word 'tarat' can be used to describe any member of the Clan currently in their half-human half-animal form. But it is also used to describe what form they shift into. For example, a human-tarat is one who was originally an animal then genetically engineered to shift to human. Their shift form is human. Examples of human-tarati include the red fox Gizlah and the crow Loriat, both of House Nhonn. Almost all human-tarati are only capable of shifting into the fully human form, and are incapable of shifting into the half-and-half form. However, through reasons unknown, Loriat is capable of shifting through the whole spectrum, and can shift only certain body parts at will (such as changing only her arms into wings). Animal-tarati were once human, most abducted and experimented upon without their consent. Many are capable of shifting the entire spectrum, though some are only capable of shifting into the half-human, half-animal form. Examples of animal-tarati are Shainon of House Nhonn, and Makon. Both are only capable of shifting into the half-and-half tarat form.
