DAAS Kapital was set in the 21st Century and Shitsu Tonka, a global company-government, has declared that history has ended and that art is dangerous. For that reason, all of the world's greatest art treasures have been loaded onto the Titanic II, a submarine, and the Allstars were assigned to catalogue all of these.
Although each episode is a separate story, there are certain elements of the show that appear each week.
Richard's wife, Khym Lam, is the Shitsu Tonka newsreader, and she gives reports on the state of the Shitsu Tonka world. You can find some modelling pictures of Khym here.
Flacco spends most of series one in a box, but in the second series he comes out and plays various different characters which prop up "some mediocre plot line", as he puts it.
Michael Petroni's comedic persona, Bob, appears each week, seemingly haunting Tim. He's Bob, and he's got a problem. He spends his time trying to kill things, although what it actually is remains a mystery, but in any case, Bob gets seriously injured in all the episodes, but he'll always be back. Amelia informs us that the character, Psycho Bob, is based on a character from the movie, Dr Strangelove. The film also features a character called Bucky, which harks back to the DAAS Kapital epsisode Humility.
Bob Downe is the star of Shitsu Tonka TV. He does everything from selling things to hosting game shows and current affairs shows to doing a 'where are they now' show.
Wayne Kerr (Tim) is Shitsu Tonka's only G5 violence rated TV show. Spinner (Richard) and Paddlefoot (Paul) join him in his quest to rid the world of vegetarians, hippies and martial arts experts, among other things.
Paul also appears as Troy The Invincible. Each week, Troy attempts to demonstrate the class struggle, which usually ends up with him losing a body part or setting himself alight but, of course, he is always patched up by next week because he's invincible... but that's gotta hurt!
Richard plays Uncle Biff Happy in a series of advertisements trying to sell insurance for Shitsu Tonka. These ads are always accompanied by a middle class couple (played by Tim and Richard. Tim's the woman!), who say how wonderful the insurance is.
There are also a lot of claymation characters who join in the party. Thulgore is the boys' pet thing. He lives a comfortable life in the cargo hold of the Titanic II, eating the garbage and the occasional unwelcome visitor to the ship. There is also Ross, a cockroach who has a special relationship with Flacco, and then there are some other assorted cockroaches, gremlins and rats aboard.
Title: Lust
[script]
This episode is loosely (very loosely!) based on Cinderella. Paul and Tim are members of the Royal Rhino Misogynists Lodge, and it is time for their annual ball. Richard isn't allowed to go to the ball because he isn't a member of the Lodge, and besides, who else would iron all of Tim and Paul's Rhino clothes and clean the floor?
But while poor old Richard is locked away in his room, slaving away over a hot iron, his fairy godfish (who looks suspiciously like Flacco!) decides to drop in...
Songs in this episode include Living With Girls and the Rhino Songs
Title: Avarice
[script]
It's the Titanic II's second birthday and it is also Paul's birthday... but no one remembers.
This episode is a bit all over the place, with a lot of little things going on. Richard's fight for feminism, the Ku Klux Klan element, the fact that they all miss the mothers, Richard's stupidity and girliness, Paul's birthday present, Thulgore and Tim's being highly sexual creatures, and the shredding of Shakespeare all appear in this episode among other things.
Mummy Dearest is the only song in this episode.
Title: Gluttony
[script]
It's raining outside (!) and everyone is bored. What can you do when it rains? You can watch TV, you can play games and you can eat... so they decide to play some games.
But, of course, being the funny kind of guys they are they aren't normal games. Mr Spickle-Head, Wince, Mr Toaster and the dreaded, but probably a lot of fun for everyone but Tim, Mr Potato.
Paul and Richard are lonely, and as a result they have broken one of the rules: NO PETS! NO PETS! NO PETS! Tim decides to cook a feast.
Songs in this episode include Sunday Mornings and Get Nicked Mum.
Title: Envy
[script] (thanks to Allstars Inc)
The Doug Anthony Allstars are holding the first ever boy-scout jamboree at the bottom of the ocean, until they get scared that is.
This episode is based on the Wizard of Oz, and all the boys have to go through journeys to overcome certain problems they have. Richard has to defeat demons from his past to regain his courage, Tim has to discover his missing brain and Paul has to find his heart.
Songs in this episode include Maria and Catholic Girls On LSD.
Title: Sloth
[script] (thanks to Laura).
It's Bastille Day down on the Titanic II, and Paul is in no state to celebrate as he sinks deep into alcoholism.
Tim and Richard tie him to a chair while Tim goes down to the alcohol basement to check out the situation with all the priceless bottles down there. Richard, with his big head, goes on the hunt for all the bottles that Paul has hidden to quench his thirst.
Songs in this episode include I Love The French and Mexican Hitler.
Title: Pride
[script] (thanks to Allstars Inc)
The Titanic II is infested with cockroaches, and Paul is on a mission to send them all to cockroach heaven. But what will happen to Tim who has inherited the mysterious Ferguson family curse, and Richard who has turned to vegetarianism ("YOU SICKO!!") and as a result of eating really lightly cooked fish has ended up with Flacco in his stomach and is coughing up colored nerf balls left, right and centre.
Thank You is the only song in this episode.
Title: Anger
[script] (thanks to Allstars Inc)
It is the Allstars last day aboard the Titanic II... hopefully. But when they play a game of charades, everything starts to turn surreal.
One of them isn't human, one of them discovers a genie in a box, there is a bomb onboard that is set to blow before they are scheduled to get off the ship and poor cousin Valmay is in as bad a shape as ever.
Cosmic Cowboys is the only song in this episode.
Title: Faith
Status: Adrift In Space
The boys have miraculously survived the incidents aboard the Titanic II at the end of last series, but what will they do now?
Well, first of all, they have changed their address, which means filling out a Shitsu Tonka official census. This proves harder than it sounds for Dorcen Langbene, Bumstead and Cynthia.
Shitsu Tonka is also on the lookout for a new world leader and Tim decides he's the man for the job, especially since he has Richard around to think for him. As for Paul, he is forced to 'do the decent thing'...
I'm Sick is the only song in this episode.
Title: Humility
Status: That's Jazz
[script] (thanks to Amelia).
On Earth war has been declared on jazz musicians, so the Marquis de Sade travels into outer space so as not to be killed (culled?). Tim and Richard are hoping to impress him when he arrives on the Titanic II with their jazz record collection so that he might get them off the Titanic, but they were silly enough to tell Paul to 'take care of all the jazz records'.
Also on board is the last remaining nuclear warhead, which Bob, who thinks that World War II is still raging back on Earth, and his co-pilot decide to steal and use to end the war.
That's Jazz and Warsong are the songs from this episode.
Title: Felicity
Status: The Papal Visit
As the Allstars work their way through all the cataloguing, they come across a miraculous rug with the voice of God (or Bob?).
The new Pope is coming to visit to check out this bizarre miracle. Paul throws himself into the religious worship of the rug, and Tim and Richard humor him, all the while plotting with their evil master about corrupting the brain of St Peter.
When the Pope arrives Tim and Richard set about their task and Paul, who is keeping very close company with the Pope keeps hearing strange noises.
Songs in this episode include Bless Me Father and a song by Bob.
Chastity
Status: UFO Alert
The Titanic is confronted with a giant UFO, and this leads to the discovery that Paul is in fact an alien, Komahahagrrrr.
Another alien Brad boards the ship to help Komahahagrrrr finish the tests on his specimens ("You can't talk about us that way, we are human beings!" HA!), but can Komahahagrrrr go through with it?
Carnal Carnival is the only song in this episode.
Title: Charity
Status: Christmas Day
Richard is awakened early on Christmas morning by a comet flying over the Titanic II, or so it seems. When the 'comet' leads them to a baby in a manger it seems that something very special indeed has happened.
The baby Flacco grows from a newly circumcised (thanks to Paul) baby, to a demanding child ("Don't bully the child Paul!"), to an adult.
Santa Bob pays a visit to the Titanic II, with lots of presents (mostly for Tim, from Tim!), and a special ticking present from Uncle Bob to Tim...
Away In The Manger and Good Night Sweet Prince are the songs from this episode.
Title: Hope
Status: Black Friday
Everyone's in preparation for a family picnic on the Titanic II, but the fact that they are visiting Sector 7, Level 13 and it is Friday the 13th means that their chances of running into blood sucking demons or wicked witches is really quite low.
Richard is scared, so they leave a trail of glowing radioactive bread behind them, which is promptly eaten up by some gremlins. They manage to get separated from each other and the gremlins, a witch and a prince all play a part in the boys ending up in a cage.
Party In Hell is the only song from this episode.
Title: Patience
Status: Meteor Showers
While Tim revisits his old surfing days, Richard discovers that they are going to be hit by a meteor shower in 10 hours ("No, it's nine!" "TEN HOURS TIM!!"), but nothing can be done because Paul's broken the engine (and he's got the sore neck to prove it).
This episode is influenced by Alice in Wonderland, so, of course, a white rabbit Flacco turns up and feeds them all experimental Shitsu Tonka drugs.
But none of them are affected it seems, but why does Tim keep grinding his teeth, why does Richard finally 'get' a joke from the start of the episode and why does Paul suddenly love his life and think he's a baby seal?
Then the rabbit reappears and the mad hatter (Bob) turns up for a tea party.
Drugs is the only song from this episode.
