Hayato is the Kikyou City Pokemon Gym Leader. He’s the first gym leader you fight in Gold/Silver and trains bird pokemon. He yields the Wing Badge. In the anime he has a Pijyotto, a Ho-Ho, a Dodrio, and a Pijyotto. Satoshi beats the pokemon with his Pikachu and Lizardon.

                Pokemon:
                        Poppo/Lv. 7
                        Pijyon/Lv. 9

Bugzy/Tsukushi

Tsukushi is the Hiwada Town Pokemon Gym Leader. He trains insect-type pokemon and yields the Insect Badge. Her gym is an indoor forest with lots of insects (much to Kasumi's dismay). In the anime he has an Itomaru, Toransaru, and Strike.

                Pokemon:
                        Toransaru/Lv. 14
                        Kokuun/Lv. 14
                        Strike/Lv. 16

Whitney/Akane

Akane is the Kobane City Pokemon Gym Leader. The "Dynamite Pretty Girl" trains normal-type pokemon (which really have no weaknesses). She yields the Regular Badge, but won’t give it to you right after victory (it’s in the building northeast of the gym-it has a lot of plants inside). She’s the first gym leader to use one of the new pokemon from Gold/Silver, Mirutanku (#241).

                Pokemon:
                        Pippi/Lv. 18
                        Mirutanku/Lv. 20

Morty/Matsuba

Matsuba is the Enjyu City Pokemon Gym Leader. Matsuba trains phantom pokemon, much like Kikuko in Red/Blue/Green. He yields the Phantom Badge.

                Pokemon:
                        Ghosu/Lv. 21
                        Ghosto/Lv. 21
                        Gengaa/Lv. 25
                        Ghosto/Lv. 23

Chuck/Shijima

Shijima is the Tanba City Pokemon Gym Leader. He’s a really big sumo-wrestler-type guy who is really strong (he demonstrates this by tossing around a boulder when he first introduces himself). He trains fighting pokemon and yields the Shock Badge (sounds like the badge Machisu should be giving out…).

                Pokemon:
                        Okorizaru/Lv. 27
                        Nyorobon/Lv. 30

Jasmine/Mikan

Mikan is the Asagi City Pokemon Gym Leader. She's a little girl who trains steel-type pokemon (a type new to Gold/Silver). She stays in the Asagi City Lighthouse until you give her the medicine needed to make her pokemon, Akari-chan, better (you can get it in Tanba City after beating Shijima). She gives you the Steel Badge. She uses a new pokemon, Haganeeru (#208) which is basically a steel version of Iwaku.

                Pokemon:
                        Coil/Lv. 30
                        Coil/Lv. 30
                        Haganeeru/Lv. 35

Pryce/Yanagi

Yanagi is the Chouji City Pokemon Gym Leader. Yanagi is an old man (he uses a cane!) who trains ice-type pokemon. That’s why he gives you the Ice Badge. He, like Akane, uses a new pokemon, Inomuu (#221-the evolved form of Urimuu).

                Pokemon:
                        Pauwau/Lv. 27
                        Jyugon/Lv. 29
                        Inomuu/Lv. 30

Claire/Ibuki

Ibuki is the final gym leader who resides in Fusube City. With a rather...unique choice in clothing (check out her cape!) she trains dragon pokemon (sounds like Wataru). She is the last of the new gym leaders in Gold/Silver and is the hardest. She uses Kingdra, the evolved form of Seadra. She won't give you the Raging Badge until you retrieve a dragon fang from the cave north of her gym (you need HM 6 to get the fang).

                Pokemon:
                        Hakuryuu/ Lv. 37
                        Hakuryuu/Lv. 37
                        Hakuryuu/Lv. 37
                        Kingdra/Lv. 40

???/Itsuki

Itsuki is the first of the four bosses you'll fight at the end of the first half of Gold/Silver. He trains psychic/ice pokemon. He uses Neiteio (#178), a totem-pole type pokemon.

                Pokemon:
                        Neiteio/Lv. 40
                        Ruujyura/Lv. 41
                        Nasshii/Lv. 41
                        Yadoran/Lv. 41
                        Neiteio/Lv. 42

???/Karin

Karin is the last of the four trainers you'll fight at the first half of Gold/Silver (the other three are Itsuki, Kyou, and Shiba). She trains Blackii (#197), Yamikarasu (#198), and Herugaa (#229).
                Pokemon:
                        Blackii/Lv. 42
                        Rafureshia/Lv. 42
Gengaa/Lv. ??? (I forgot to write it down...)
                        Yamikarasu/Lv. 44
                        Herugaa/Lv. 47

Pocket Monsters was not created by me. It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo. Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon. No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site. All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
