    Pokemon Bashing and Other Humor

    Pokemon Bashing

    It's no secret that everybody doesn't love pokemon.  In fact, some find it offensive.  Here are some of the accusations made against the show and game by several groups.  Here are people who have a bone to pick with the popular show.
     

      1)  The show means "Pocket Devils"--it really doesn't...there's a detailed explanation inside...
      2)  The show is affiliated with the Nazis--Um...no.  It's just a mix-up with one of the TCG cards.
      3)  The show is satanic--Pokemon has about as much to do with cults as Harry Potter...
      4)  Pokemon is racist--Not really...but it does have a racist stereotype in the form of Ruujura
      5)  Pokemon's not as innocent as they'd have you believe!--Hmmm...so many accusations, and no evidence whatsover
      6)  Pokemon's Backwards Speech!--Through the magic of having waaaay too much free time, pokemon's real messages are brought to light...right...
      7)  "The Power of One" is good for our environment!--*Gasp*!  The second Pokemon movie can be educational!?  I HAVE to find out how!!!
      8)  Antipoke Articles--Antipoke is a website that "informs" the general public of why Pokemon is bad and evil. The website can be found here.  I've  pretty much mirrored most of the site, so here it is in  easy-to-view chunks.  Special thanks to Jessi Musashi of the Pocket Monsters Hideout for pointing the site out.
        a)  One person's opinion that is very good (Page 1)--This article is so incomprehensible...
        b)  One person's opinion that is very good (Page 2)--...and it has a second part to it.
        c)  Things in pokemon that are wrong--Thank goodness!  FINALLY, someone breaks it down for me!
        d)  dungeon's and dragons--Hey, I couldn't have a Pokemon Bashing page without mention of TSR's famous game, could I?
      9)  Pokemon toys have also had their share of bad luck, as the deaths of several children have been blamed on poorly-made Pokemon toys.  Other complaints about the Pokemon toys are here as well.
        a)  Myuutsu bouncer ball
        b)  Burger King Poke-balls
        c)  Talking Pikachu cusses!
        d)  Teens use promise of Pokemon cards to get sex


    Humor
     

      1)  Land Over Baptist is a website that is a parody of evangelists who speak out against EVERYTHING.  Though real pastors have looked down upon Pokemon before, Land Over Baptist's fake pastors have spoken out for some very hilarious articles.
        a)  Poke Yourself, Satan!
        b)  Must...bomb...Pearl Harbor!
      2)  The American Tract Society has releases tracts (religous pamphlets) and they've released one about Pokemon!  Actually, on the cover is Pokemon, and then it goes on to compare Myuutsu to God and how the power of Pokemon is the same as the power of God.  Sounds like good reading!  Take a look here.
      3)  Hsu and Chan are a pair of ficticious Japanese video game designers who are always trying to cash in on the newest crazes.  And of course, Pocket Monsters has made several appearances ^_^.  Here are two of their more zany adventures involving Pocket Monsters.  WARNING--these pictures are BIG!  They have to be because the dialogue is written veeery tiny, so expect a long load time.  Use your browser's Back button to return to this page.
        a)  "Pocket Morons"-Hsu and Chan create their own pokemon, Chernobyl. 
        b)  "Pocket Morons Platinum"-Hsu and Chan make a bunch of new pokemon, this time to battle an evil man trying to cash in on their get rich quick scheme!
