    Links!

Here are my favorite links, in no particular order!

    To view Japanese sites:

I suggest using the plug-in that's on Yahoo's site.  All you have to do is download the Japanese plug-in of your choice, and then it should be installed onto your Internet Browser.  Then, when you visit a Japanese page, it will do one of two things.  One, it'll be in Japanese and you're OK to go.  Two, it'll be a bunch of jibberish.  If the latter happens, that means it didn't activate for some reason (it won't be automatic for some pages).  That's OK, simply right-click somewhere on the page (that isn't an image) and click on "encoding."  Then select the Japanese option (whatever it's called).

The Anime Intro Archive has a ton of high-quality video clips of Japanese Pocket Monsters, as well as other shows airing on Japanese TV at the moment.  They have all the opening and ending themes (even the ones to the Pokemon Crystal Special), video clips from the Pokemon Crystal special, TV commercials, and much more!  The only thing is that the site is really slow, so even if you have a speedy cable or ethernet connection the clips will take a while to download.

Forget about searching for fan sites of your favorite anime on a regular search engine...look on Anipike!  Anipike has links to just about every major anime site on the Internet.  Just about every anime, no matter how obscure, can be found here.  In fact, many people don't consider your site big if you're not listed on Anipike.  So whether you want to find popular anime like Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z, or whether you're looking for the obscure Oniisame E, Minky Momo, Ebichu, etc, you're sure to find it on Anipike!  Currently, the main URL leads you to some Breast Cancer site, so until Anipike can get its domain thing straightened out, you can check out their European mirror (which has the same links and everything) here.

Need anime lyrics?  Sure you do.  So head on over to The Anything-Goes Anime Lyrics Archive.  It has lyrics from Pocket Monsters, as well as from other anime.  Check it out!

DBZ Uncensored is the most popular episode comparison site!  It's closed down now, but if you thumb through the pages Chris left up, you'll see some well-written comparisons and will see why so many people have copied him.

For information about all the seiyuu mentioned on the Humans page, go to Hitoshi Doi's Seiyuu Database.  You'll find the most complete listing of seiyuu on the web, and maybe even a picture of your favorite seiyuu (I know he at least has the picture of Musashi's Japanese VA up).  If American voice actors are your thing, go to Voice Chasers, the Hitoshi Doi of American VA's.  This site also has information on other anime as well, so check it out.  It's very interesting!

Encyclopedia Pokemonica is a site run by a Japanese person who knows English, and it has so much info!  There is tons of information about the Japanese series, available in English, that you just can't find anywhere else.  I'm so jealous of everything the site has!  Information about the series that can only be found in a book written by the creator of Pocket Monsters (and is only available in Japanese) is available on the website, such as information about where the inspirations about some of the characters come from and stuff about Satoshi's dad.  Read the FAQ on the site, and I'm sure you'll find something you didn't know.

Journey is a neat site that's just beginning, but it's getting better all the time!  This site has zukan (pokedex) listings for every pokemon, both anime and game (so you can compare) and tons of lyrics.  They've gotten better, so keep checking in!

Mewtopia is a great site on its own, but probably my favorite part is this translation (rough as it may be) of the first pokemon movie, "Myuutsu no Gyakushuu."  Now you can see for yourself the HUGE differences in maturity and depth between the Japanese movie and the US crappy version.

Phox's Poke TCG Guide is a great place to find out about the card game.  It has tons of stuff about the Japanese cards.

CD Japan is where you can buy any Japanese pokemon good you'd like.  Games, music, books, anything you could want can be found here.  They have a good variety of stuff, so go check it out.

I had never joined an on-line club before.  But the Pocket Monsters Hideout is great.  It's a small club so far, and it's not really a high-traffic club, but it's still a fun place to chat with other fans of the Japanese series.

A Rocket-Dan CD Drama Translation can be found by clicking on this link.  These wonderful people have also done a translation of the Birth of Myuutsu CD Drama Translation, so check that out as well!

So You Want to Learn Japanese? is a hilarious essay that every Japanese language student/potential Japanese language student should read.  Though it's written as a joke (the author really does love the Japanese language), there are a lot of truths sprinkled throughout.  And I gurantee that any student in a Japanese language class knows each of the three types of students in his class.

Systran Internet Translation Technologies is a site that enables you to type in the URL of a site, and have it translated from English to French, Spanish to English, etc.  It's great for viewing foreignlanguage sites-plus, it's really neat to see some of your favorite sites translated into French!  You can also type some text into a box and have it translated into a foreign language and vise-versa.  Unfortunately, the site has no Japanese option.  Be warned-since it's an online translator, the translations will be sketchy at best.

TV-Tokyo-only the official Japanese site.  Updated weekly with an image, quicktime movie, and synopsis for the week's current Japanese episode.  That's where I get my weekly Jouto images from.

If you want Pokemon background music, go to With the Wind:  Music and Songs.  It has the music played during the Rocket-Dan motto, and much more.  It still doesn't have all the BGM found on the OST, so you'll still have to buy it!

In the biggest "up yours" move from Nintendo (making you buy a RAM pak just to play Monjora's Mask?), Nintendo has just released two new Game Boy Zelda games, "Oracle of Seasons" and "Oracle of Ages."  To get the true ending of the games, you have to beat one, and then enter the password into the other game to fight the true final boss.  Oh well, I'm not complaining too much...you get to play more Zelda!

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
