Mr. Fuji/Fuji-Hakase Japanese VA: Akimoto Yousuke
Pic courtesy of Mewtopia Fuji-Hakase is a famous scientist and Ai's father. Sakaki, head of the Rocket-Dan, noticed the doctor as a brilliant scientist and offered him the best scientific equipment known to man if he'll create for him the perfect pokemon. Fuji-Hakase agreed, secretly planning to clone his daughter while working on the ultra-pokemon. His daughter died in a car crash when she was little, and ever since then Fuji-Hakase has wished for a way to bring her back. Sakaki's lab provided him with just that. Soon, the desire to bring his dead daughter back to life consumes him so much that his wife can no longer handle it. She leaves Fuji-Hakase as he continues his work. At first he made a clone of a Hitokage, Zenigame, and Fushigidane, but these clones weren't good enough for Sakaki. The Rocket-Dan soon discovered a rare fossil of a Myuu eyelash in South America, and Fuji-Hakase had what he needed. He and the Rocket-Dan's other scientists worked on Myuutsu ("Myuu-Two") while he secretly creates a clone of his daughter. She lives with her memories for a while, but then the pokemon clones start to die. His cloning process had flaws, and because of this his clones had a short lifespan. Inevitably, like the pokemon clones before her, the Ai clone dies. Life goes on, and Myuutsu is finally born. When it escapes from the lab, it blows it up in a pure blast of psychic energy, presumably killing everyone in the lab. Including Fuji-Hakase. However, right before his death, Fuji-Hakase expresses his regret in playing God and creating such a pokemon. In the Red/Green/Blue/Yellow game, there's a Mr. Fuji, but I don't know if this is the same person. ???/Ai Japanese VA: Hikami Kyouko
Ai is Fuji-Hakase's daughter who was killed in a car wreck at a very young age. She was cloned by her father and given her memories back years later while scientists were working on the Myuutsu project. Ai became the infant-Myuutsu's friend and taught it of the outside world, how to count, and how to talk. However, she soon dies because Fuji-Hakase's cloning process is imperfect. With her dying breath she tells Myuutsu to celebrate the fact that it has life. Myuutsu is so upset over her death that it has to be sedated. It ponders the meaning of its existence while in comatose while Ai is in its memories the whole time. ???/Miyamato Japanese VA: Hyouma Yumi
Miyamato was a member of the Rocket-Dan back when Onna-Boss called the shots and was one of the gang's best members. She is sent to into the Andes Mountains to investigate a noise that was recorded in those mountains that Onna-Boss believed to be a Myuu. Miyamato tells Musashi-her daughter and future member of the Rocket-Dan-and her husband (who isn't really identified) of the mission, which makes a very young Musashi cry. Miyamato gives Musashi a picture of Musashi's father and then leaves for her mission. Miyamato searches in the mountains for a long time with no luck. Then one day, a Myuu appears and then disappears very suddenly! However, before she can chase after it, she hears a rumbling. It's an avalanche! Miyamato tries to escape, but all she can do is scream as she is killed by the falling snow. Miyamato is always hungry for money, but not for herself-she's constantly saying how school for Musashi costs a lot. She wants to find Myuu not for herself, but so that she can get the money to let Musashi have a good education. She wasn't a bad person, she just wanted what's best for her daughter. ???/Onna-Boss Japanese VA: Tsuru Hiromi
Onna-Boss used to be the leader of the Rocket-Dan before Sakaki, her son, took over (apparently it's a family business). She is the one who sends Miyamato on the mission which gets her killed. She is always money-conscious and is always looking for more ways to save money. ???/Boija Japanese VA: Kobayashi Yuko Boija is the master and/or owner of the pier leading to New Island. She grew up on the pier, so she has had experience with many fierce storms. She comments that the storm conjured up by Myuutsu is the worst storm that she had ever seen. Boija advises the trainers not to challenge the storm, but she realizes that their hearts are too stubborn for her words to stop them. ???, ???, and ???/Umio, Sweet, and Sorao Japanese VA: Sorao: Furuya Tohru
Umio, Sweet, and Sorao are the only trainers-other than Satoshi-to make it to New Island to face Myuutsu. Umio's main pokemon is a Gyarados, and he also trains Seadra, Nidoqueen, Golduck, Dokukurage, and a Showers. He is the most short-tempered of the group. Sweet's pokemon include Pukurin, Kamex, Rafureshia, Jugon, Kyuukon, and Gallop. Sweet's main pokemon is a Pijyotto, and he also trains a Strike, a Sawamuraa, a Fushigibana, a Sandpan, and a Saidon. Lawrence III/Jirarudan
Jirarudan is a pokemon collector who wishes to get the ultimate pokemon, Lugia. He has a giant flying fortress which he uses to catch the pokemon needed (the three bird pokemon-Fire, Freezer, and Thunder). He never uses Monster Balls...in fact, he spends most of the movie sitting in his hover chair on the bridge. Instead, he uses the special weapons of the fortress (which seem to have been made specifically to capture the bird pokemon) to catch them in cages. It can be said that Jirarudan isn't a very good villain-all his destruction seems to be accidental-and he isn't developed that much. He started collecting pokemon after finding an Ancient Myuu card. When the movie was released in Japan, your admission ticket also came with a mini booklet which told some background information on Jirarudan. But since the American version didn't come with said booklet, "Lawrence III" has to reveal his character by talking more than Jirarudan did. Melody/Furuura
Furuura is a Miko, a person who acts as a communicator between the gods and the humans. She uses her flute to play the song which calms the gods' anger, but the song by itself is not enough. The three orbs of the three gods is also needed to return the balance of the Earth. Furuura teases Kasumi, asking whether she's Satoshi's sister or girlfriend. Maren/Michiko
Michiko serves as Satoshi-tachi's guide on their initial boat trip to Asia Island and pilots the boat Satoshi-tachi ride. She doesn't really do much of anything else. Molly/Mi
Mi is a small girl whose parents died when she was little. A bunch of Annon, sensing her pain, try to help her by creating an illusionary world. With the help of Entei, she tries to create a surrogate family by stealing Hanako. She really is an innocent girl saddened by her father's "death," but she is put under the control of the Annon. Professor Spencer Hale/Shurii
Shurii is Mi's father who was researching the Annon. He's a good friend of Ookido-Hakase and was Hanako's ex-boyfriend. He disappeared when the Annon pulls him into another world after he arranges a bunch of artifacts in a certain order. Lisa/Rin
Rin meets Satoshi in his travels through the Jouto League, and decides to join him on his quest. Like Satoshi, she too wants to become a pokemon master. She shows Satoshi how to get to Green Ville, where the majority of the movie's main events occur. ???/Yukinari
Yukinari was brought to the present from forty years in the past by Serebii. Yukinari heard a voice in the forest and decided to help it. It was the voice of Mika, and she enlists him in protecting Serebii. He meets Satoshi-tachi in the present, and together they help protect Serebii from the evil Vicious. ???/Mamoru Vicious and Gareousu Japanese VA: Shirou Sano
Vicious is an evil member of the Rocket-Dan in search of Serebii, the super-rare and super powerful pokemon. He has supposedly developed a "Dark Ball," that turns the pokemon he's captured with it into evil creatures. It's rumored that he catches Serebii with this special Monster Ball...He's a Bangirasu trainer and has a mecha named Gareosu. Vicious is the second "defined" villain in a pokemon movie, with Jirarudan being the first. And this guy looks even goofier. Couldn't the animators at least come up with ONE villain who looks somewhat menacing?! |

Pocket Monsters was not created by me. It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo. Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon. No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site. All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!). |
