Myuutsuu no Gyakushuu ("Myuutsu Strikes Back") and its mini-movie "Pikachuu no Natsuyasumi" ("Pikachu's Summer Vacation") first appeared in Japanese theatres on July 18th, 1998.  The film came over to America on November 10th, 1999.  The American version quickly reached #1, making over $50,000,000 in its first five days.  The movie received bad reviews by almost every movie critic, but that didn't stop kids from dragging their confused parents out to see it.  Children skipped school on opening day (which was a Wednesday) to see the movie much like Japanese kids did when the movie first came out in Japan.

A celebration in Times Square, commemorating the release of "Pokemon:  The First Movie" on VHS and DVD.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
