    Kenji's Pokemon

    #048:  Konpan

Getto Da Ze:  Kenji has it in his debut episode (Episode 84, "Help Lapras!")

Konpan is a bug-type pokemon that isn't used very often.  Its insect eyes act like a radar, finding anyone or anything Kenji needs to find (like the Lapras that Musashi and Kojirou steal).  It also has the typical insect-type attacks, such as a string shot and the standard tackle attack.

Aya, a ninja in Sekichiku City, uses a Konpan to see if Satoshi is worthy to battle the Gym Leader Kyou.  Aya's pokemon is easily beaten by Satoshi's Fushigidane, so Kyou emerges and decides to battle the young trainer.  Kyou uses a very experienced Konpan in his battle against Satoshi, and it even evolves into a Morufuon in mid-battle, but unfortunately the battle is unable to be completed because the Rocket-Dan interfere.

    #183:  Mariru

    Japanese VA:  Kanai Mika
Getto Da Ze:  It is already caught when Kenji first uses it (Episode 87, "Crystal Iwaku")

Mistakingly named "Pikablu" by many on-line fans, Mariru is a water-type mouse pokemon.  Mariru has super-strong hearing which can be used to sense many hidden objects.  With Konpan's radar vision and Mariru's super-hearing, Kenji's pokemon are able to locate anything!  It also has a round tail that acts like a rubber ball, floating to the water's surface so that Kenji can keep track of the pokemon when it dives underwater.

Mariru makes its animated debut in the first mini-movie "Pikachu Natsuyasumi."

    #123:  Strike

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 97 ("Strike!  Soldier's Pride")

Strike is a green mantis-pokemon Kenji finds while travelling through the Orange Islands.  It is being attacked by other Strike because can no longer be their leader anymore, and Kenji steps in and rescues it.  Kenji nurses it back to health, and soon Strike gains enough trust in the Pokemon Watcher to join him on his journey.  Strike is stubborn and never gives up, putting its own life in danger just to win a battle.

Strike is seen earlier in Episode 42 ("Showdown!  Pokemon Gym!") as one of the rival gyms' head pokemon.  Whenever that particular Strike saw the color red it went beserk, but it is unknown if this is a trait shared by all Strike--Kenji's Strike doesn't seem to mind the color red at all.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
