    Rocket-Dan Pokemon
    Musashi & Kojirou
The following pokemon were used once when Musashi and Kojirou served as gym leaders for the Tokiwa City Gym.  They're really one-time pokemon, so they don't get seperate bios (I mean really, what could I write about each one?).  Technically, all these pokemon belong to Sakaki:

Musashi and Kojirou--Kingler, Saidon, Kairikii, Goronya, and Perushien (Episode 63, "Tokiwa Gym!  The Final Badge!")

    #052:  Nyasu

    Japanese VA:  Inuyama Inuko
Name Means:  Nya- is the sound a cat makes in Japan.  Nyasu is making a name out of the cat noise.  "Meowth" is actually a translation of Nyasu.
Getto Da Ze:  Nyasu is with the Rocket-Dan in their debut episode (Episode 2, "Showdown!  Pokemon Center")

Nyasu is the lovable talking cat of the Rocket-Dan.  He doesn't belong to either Musashi or Kojirou, he just follows them around out of his free will.  Nyasu grew up poor and as a member of a gang of Nyasu, but he was in love with a female Nyasu.  She turned him down, saying how he is only a Nyasu and cannot give her the rich life she deserves.  So, by looking in on a ballet class, Nyasu teaches himself how to walk on two legs like a human and how to talk (the word "Rocket" is the first word he learned).  Nyasu presents his new-found abilities to his love, but she rejects him as being a freak of nature.  Depressed, Nyasu joins the Rocket-Dan, where he befriends Musashi and Kojirou.

Nyasu is always fighting for a special place in Sakaki's heart, as his favorite pokemon is a Persian (the evolved form of Nyasu).  Nyasu is sometimes smarter than Musashi and Kojirou--when they are about to reveal Rocket-Dan secrets or spoil their plans, he is always there to scratch them in the face.  Nyasu dresses up and participates in all of Musashi's and Kojirou's crazy schemes.  Nyasu has several songs, including Nyaasu no Uta, Nyaasu no Uta 2000, and Nyaasu no PAATI.  In fact, he even has his own CD!  Some people complain about his Japanese voice ("It's more annoying than his dubbed voice!") but after you get used to it it's actually VERY cute.

Nyasu is not available in Pokemon Yellow or Green.

    #132:  Metamon

    Japanese VA:  Kawata Taiko
    American VA:  Rachael Lillis
Getto Da Ze:  Mondo has it in his debut (The "It's a White Tomorrow!  The Rocket-Dan" CD Drama)

I want one!  I want one!

Metamon is Mondo's one and only pokemon.  Metamon has the unique ability to shapeshift into any shape it wishes (pokemon or otherwise).  When it turns into a pokemon, it gains all its abilites!  Metamon sounds like a great pokemon to have, but in reality it makes the game glitch quite a lot...

In the CD Drama, Metamon is traded for Musashi-tachi's talking Nyasu.  Mondo is happy with the talking cat for a while, but soon misses his Metamon.  The same thing happens with the Rocket-Dan...they want their Nyasu back!  Metamon didn't really want to be with Musashi-tachi, and so it puposefully messed up its transformations just to annoy them.  By the end of the CD Dramas, they trade back and are satisfied.

Metamon also appears in the anime (Episode 37, "Metamon and the Mimicry Girl") as the pokemon Musashi and Kojirou steal.  It can transform perfectly except that it has the same Metamon-expression on its face (imagine a Fushigidane with the little beady Metamon eyes and the little wavey Metamon mouth).  Musashi and Kojirou soon train it to transform perfectly, face and all.  Musashi and Kojirou stole Metamon to get it to turn into a Miniryuu (which they encountered in the previous "banned in the US" episode) and present it to Sakaki, but their plan fails.

    #209 and 210:  Buru/Grandbull

Name means:  Buru is the Japanese pronunciation of "Bull," as in a bull-dog
Getto Da Ze:  Episode 124 ("Buruu no Karei Naseikatsu!")
Evolves:  Grandbull-Episode 175 ("Buru and Nyasu and Grandbull!?")

    Pic courtesy of Mew's Bubble

Buru was owned by a rich old lady who bought it everything it could need.  However, the bull-dog pokemon was unhappy living the cushy lifestyle and wanted to get out on its own, so it left to follow the Rocket-Dan around.  Buru is obsessed with biting round objects, so it's constantly biting Nyasu's tail.

    #225:  Delibird

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 231 ("The Rocket-Dan and Delibird")

Delibird is sort of given to Musashi and Kojirou.  Musashi and Kojirou are recovering from a defeat one day when they notice how Satoshi-tachi have a lot more pokemon than they do.  As they're walking and complaining, they notice a Delibird locked in a cage, and a challenge is issued to them from a loudspeaker--if they can defeat the penguin pokemon, they can keep it.  Working together, Musashi and Kojirou use Arbok and Utsubot to quickly defeat the pokemon.  After a thorough background check (which shows that Musashi and Kojirou aren't registered as members of the Rocket-Dan), the previous owner decides to give them the pokemon.

Delibird's gimmick is that it gives its opponents presents that explode shortly after being given.  It also uses a bunch of ice attacks, as one would expect from a penguin pokemon.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
