    Satoshi's Pokemon--
    Jouto Region

    Satoshi's Kanto Region/Orange Island pokemon

    #214:  Heracross

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 119 ("Fierce Battle!  Heracross VS Kairos!")
Leaves:  Episode 146 ("Sonansu and the Pokemon Exchange!!")

Heracross is a powerful beetle-type pokemon and the first Gold-Silver pokemon that Satoshi catches.  Heracross looooves tree sap (or anything else sweet, for that matter) and is constantly sucking on the bulb on Fushigidane's back to get the sweet sap contained inside.  It's a powerful pokemon, using the horn on its head to toss its opponents.  Heracross is used now and again and is eventually returned to Ookido-Hakase's lab, where it remains to this day.

    #152 and 153:  Chikorita/Bayleef

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 126 ("Ijibbairi no Chikoriita!")
Evolves:  Episode 199 ("Goodbye Chikorita!?  The Labryinth of Electricity!")

Chikorita is the first of the three starter pokemon in the Jouto League that Satoshi captured.  Chikorita is a plant-type with attacks similar to Fushigidane's, and is known for learning powerful plant-type attacks very early.  Satoshi's Chikorita has a crush on its trainer and is constantly trying to get his attention.  It becomes jealous very easily and is very protective of its trainer.  It evolves into Bayleef and when it does, it stops obeying Satoshi (hmmm...sound familiar?).

    #155:  Hinoarashi

Name means:  hino=light or fire, arashi=storm
Getto Da Ze:  Episode 141 ("Hinoarashi!  I Got One!")

Hinoarashi is the second of the new starter pokemon Satoshi catches.  Satoshi saw a wild Hinoarashi, and follows it deep into the forest, so deep that he loses Takeshi and Kasumi.  The Rocket-Dan try to capture it, and only Hinoarashi's fire attack is powerful enough to beat them.  Hinoarashi then decides to stay with Satoshi.  It is the fire-type of the group and essentially replaces Lizardon.  Hinoarashi must wait for the flame on its back to ignite before it can attack.

    #158:  Waninoko

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 151 ("Who Gets to Keep Waninoko!?  Satoshi VS Kasumi!")

Waninoko is a water-type alligator pokemon.  When it is first seen, Kasumi, being a water-pokemon trainer, wanted to keep it for herself.  Satoshi wanted it also, and of course the two of them argued for ownership of the pokemon.  Similar to the mini-tournament held for Togepi, Kasumi and Satoshi fight for the right to keep Waninoko, and Satoshi wins.  Waninoko loves to dance and is constantly happy.

    #164:  Yorunozuku

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 154 ("Different-Colored Yorunozuku!  I Got One!!")

On his way to Kogane City, Satoshi encounters a special Yorunozuku.  This particular pokemon is special because of its unusual color and size, as well as its above-average intelligence.  The pokemon is pursued by a man who plans to use traps to capture it rather than Monster Balls, but the owl pokemon still manages to escape.  After the Rocket-Dan's attempt to capture Yorunozuku is foiled by Satoshi, the bird pokemon decides to challenge the young trainer.  Satoshi's Pikachu battles, and of course, wins.  Satoshi wins the respect of Yorunozuku and captures it, adding it to his team.

Yorunozuku is the evolved form of Ho-Ho.  It's on of the stronger bird pokemon in the game and is a useful member of the team.  Satoshi hasn't really used Yorunozuku much, just in the battle with Matsuba.

    #015:  Spear

Name means:  The American word spear, presumably because of the spear-like legs it has on front.
Getto Da Ze:  Episode 161 ("Insect Bird Convention!  I Got One at the Natural Park!!")

In his journeys through the Jouto Region, Satoshi attends the Insect Convention at the Natural Park near Kogane City.  Since Satoshi beats all of the other trainers (including the "Pro Baseball Elebuus Fan" Nanako), he is given the bug pokemon that he catches as one of his prizes.  After the competition, Satoshi decides to give Nanako (Casey) his Spear because it has a yellow and black striped pattern (seeing as how she's such a big Elebuu fan and all) and the two trainers part ways.

    #231:  Gomazou

Name Means:  goma o suru=to flatter

      zou=elephant
Getto Da Ze:  Episode 230 ("Egg, Return")
Satoshi participated in a Pokemon Ride Race while on his journeys through the Jouto Region (in Episode 228 "Pokemon RAIDO de Tsuppashire!!") and his prize for winning the contest (other than the joy of knowing that he beat Shigeru) was an egg.  The egg hatches two episodes later, and the pokemon inside turns out to be a Gomazou!

Gomazou is the pre-evolved form of Donphan.  As far as I know, it's only been used in one battle--during Satoshi's battle with the gym leader Yanagi.  Satoshi decides to test his new pokemon in battle, but it is quickly beaten by Jugon's ice blast.  Who knows what the future holds for this little powerhouse?

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
