    Takeshi's Pokemon

    #074:  Ishitsubute

Getto Da Ze:  Takeshi has it in his debut episode (Episode 5, "The Battle of Nibi Gym!")

Ishitsubute is a rock-type used by Takeshi.  Its rock-hard body beats Satoshi's Pikachu when he battles for Takeshi's Grey Badge, but it is beaten in the rematch by a very powerful Thunder Bolt (how???).

Takeshi doesn't use Ishitsubute very often.  It is usually used to pick up dirt for digging holes or clearing rubble, but that's really about it.  Takeshi uses this pokemon as the fighting pokemon in Episode 29, ("Fighting Pokemon!  Serious Battle!") but it loses within its first matches.

    #095:  Iwaku

Getto Da Ze:  Takeshi has it in his debut episode (Episode 5, "The Battle of Nibi Gym!")

Iwaku is a biiiiiiig pokemon.  As one of the largest pokemon, it is very strong in battle and beats Satoshi's Pikachu in its first encounter.  However, it is beaten when Pikachu's electric blast triggers the gym's sprinklers to activate, dousing the rock-type pokemon in water.

Like Ishitsubute, Iwaku isn't used too often.  Iwaku is entered in the race in Episode 33, ("The Big Race of Blazing Pokemon") but it is too heavy to cross the lily-pad lake and is unable to finish.  Later in Satoshi-tachi's journeys, they encounter the Four Emperors' Shiba, the rock-pokemon expert.  Takeshi is impressed by his ability to tame the Iwaku as they are usually difficult to handle, but he is devastated to find out that his venerable master really doesn't know what he's doing.  There is also a special Iwaku, the Crystal Iwaku, located on the Orange Islands.  It is perhaps the strongest and rarest Iwaku of them all.

    #041, 042, and 169:  Zubat/Golbat/Kurobat

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 6 ("Pippi and the Moon Stone")
Evolves:  Golbat--Episode 165 ("Zubatto no Yakata!  Kiken Nameiro!!")

Kurobat--Episode 196 ("Golbat VS the Masked Queen Musashi!  Battle in the Ruins!!")
Zubat is the first pokemon we see Takeshi catch, but we don't get to see the actual catch at all.  Satoshi-tachi run away from them at Mt. Moon, but Takeshi stays and catches a Zubat, which he later uses to fight the Rocket-Dan.  Zubat is perhaps the most underused pokemon in the entire show...I can only count two or three episodes it fights in, and in those episodes it loses.  Its sonar is used at times to locate pokemon, but that's about it.

It evolves into Golbat later on in the Jouto League, and then into Kurobat later, yet the circumstances of these evolutions is unknown to me.  If you have any info, please contact me.

    #037:  Rokon

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 28 ("Rokon!  Breeder Showdown!")
Leaves:  Episode 169 ("Goodbye Rokon!  Pokemon Beauty Contest!!")

Rokon is probably Takeshi's favorite pokemon.  Yuki, the manager of a Pokemon Salon on Scissor Street, raises it with the greatest of care.  The Rocket-Dan attack her views on pokemon breeding, and Takeshi-tachi battle them to stop their evil schemes.  Impressed with Takeshi's battle skills, Yuki gives her Rokon to him.

Rokon uses fire attacks and usually incinerates its enemies with one hit.  Takeshi loves his Rokon very much, it being the first pokemon he worries about when pokemon thieves are around.  Takeshi eventually gives his Rokon back to Yuki when she appears again in the Jouto area.

    #204:  Kunugidama

Getto Da Ze:  Episode 143 ("Kunugidama and the Bonguri no mi!  The Battle of Ura Mountain!!")

Kunugidama is a rock-type pokemon caught in a mountain where the "Bonguri no Mi" seeds are supposed to be.  Satoshi and the gang are sent to a mountain by Gantetsu to get these seeds so that he can make them some custom Monster Balls, and while searching Takeshi encounters one and captures it.  This is the first pokemon he's caught in a while (well, being absent during the whole Orange League season doesn't help...).  Kunugidama uses an explosion attack as well as other rock attacks.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
