    Pikachu Genki De Chuu
    (Nintendo 64)

    Released:
    Japan:  December 12th, 1998
    USA:  November 7th, 2000

Pikachu Genki Dechu ("Pikachu is Energetic") uses Nintendo's Voice Recognition device.  In Japan, it's a headset in which what you say into the little microphone determines what the little Pikachu does on-screen (in America, the Voice Recognition Unit is a little device on the controller)!  The game's basically a Tamagotchi-type game, but with Pokemon.  What you say has various effects on Pikachu (wonder what'll happen when you say "Sony" or "Sega?").

The game's came out in the US under the title "Hey You!  Pikachu!"  (What a horrible title...) at a whopping MSRP of $89.99.  But the game didn't sell well at all, so now you can find it for as little as $30.  The headset-device had to be re-programmed to understand English, which was much more difficult (and expensive) than simply changing text in a game.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
