    Pokemon Red and Green
    (Game Boy)

    Released:
    Japan:  February 27th, 1997
    USA:  September 30th, 1998

These are the games that started it all!

You play as Satoshi, a 10-year old from Masera Town.  You go from city to city searching for the various pokemon as well as trying to beat the eight gym leaders.  You receive a badge from every gym leader you defeat, and once you defeat all eight you become eligible to enter the Pokemon League, the final part of the game.  It's really addictive.

Both versions contain only 139 of the 151 pokemon.  Kairosu, Buubaa, Nyasu, Pershian, Sand, Sandopan, Matatsubomi, Utsudon, Utsubot, Rokon, and Kyuukon cannot be found in Red.  Elebuu, Strike, Arbo, Arbok, Mankii, Okorizaru, Nazonokusa, Kusaihana, Rafureshia, Gardie, and Uindei cannot be found in Green.  Therefore, to get all 150, you have to trade with someone with an opposite color.

For the US version, Nintendo changed the art files of both games to that of the Japanese Blue version.  In addition, they changed the layout of the final dungeon.  Why?  Who knows?  Then, of course, go the name changes of just about EVERYTHING.

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
