    Pokemon Stadium 3
    (Nintendo 64)

    Released:
    Japan:  December 14th, 2000
    USA:  March 26th, 2001

A brand new tournament commences in the third Pokemon Stadium game, also known as "Pokemon Stadium Gold/Silver/Crystal."  The game, now with 249 Pokemon (or so says Nintendo) is more or less the same game as the previous two.

Like the other two games, Stadium 3 uses the Transfer Pak (which isn't included with the game).  With it you can upload any pokemon, and can also use it to get a Mystery Gift for your Gold/Silver game and get some unique TM's.  And of course, there's the Game Boy Tower.

The game also uses the Mobile Phone System.  The data can be used to play different modes, like "Mobile Stadium," trade battle data, trade data with your friends, and to exchange rules for battle.  This option is missing from the American version since the American version of Pokemon Crystal won't have the Mobile Adaptor option.

Like the previous games, there are plenty of game modes:

SUTAJIAMU ("Stadium"):  There are four battle modes:  the Nintendo Cup, which only allows pokemon between levels 50-55 to battle, the Little Cup, which will only allow pokemon who have hatched from eggs level five or under to fight, the Ultra Cup, which allows any pokemon to battle, and the Challenge Cup, which will allow you to customize the rules.

Kenkyuu-jo ("Study"):  Here you can organize your pokemon, look at a zukan (which has been updated for Gold/Silver/Crystal), and transfer pokemon from the Game Boy Pak to the Nintendo 64 Pak.

EVENTO BATOLU ("Event Battle"):  Just like in the last game, it's a random two-player battle with rental pokemon.

FURII BATOLU ("Free Battle"):  It's exactly like the Free Battle in the last game, now with Gold/Silver/Crystal pokemon.  So I'll just copy myself from the Stadium 2 page:  "A one to four player battle tournament.  You can play tag team matches here."  Doesn't my laziness astound you!?

Pokemon Kouza ("Pokemon Lecture," "Earl's Pokemon Academy" in the US):  Learn the basics of pokemon and get many questions answered.  The second picture below shows an Ivui evolution chart.

JIMU LIIDA no Shiro ("Gym Leader Castle"):  Suspiciousally like the previous Gym Leader Castle:  "Fight in each gym leaders' gym.  You'll fight a few normal trainers (like bug boys or Swimmers ) and then fight the gym leader him/herself."  You'll be fighting the Gold/Silver/Crystal Gym Leaders.

GB BILU ("GB Building"):  "You can play your Game Boy Pokemon game on the N64, like a Super Game Boy!"  Lazy?  Me?  Nooooooooo~...

Jibun no Heya ("My Room"):  This is where you can keep all your items organized.  Does this mean you can use potions in battle!?

Fushigi na Okirorimono ("Mysterious Present"):  Presemts are nice, aren't they?  Especially from Kogane City.  Ok, that's all I know about this, and everything for the rest of this paragraph is just to fill space to give the casual glancer that I know what I'm talking about.  Is it working?

MINI GEEMU ("Mini-Game"):  Like the previous two games, there are twelve games to take a break from battle.  In addition, there's a quiz you can take to test your pokemon knowledge.

Lots of mini-games featuring the most famous pokemon, including the baby pokemon!

RUULU EDEITTO ("Rule Edit"):  You get to change the rules for the various tournament.  Neat, huh?

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
