As it stands the release date for the Freddy vs. Jason movie will be on September 13th, 1999. The writers of the script are David S. Goyer and James Robinson. The director will be Rob Bottin (Special and make-up specialists in The Fog, The Thing and The Howling), and the Producer will be Sean Cunningham (director of the original Friday the 13th). Starring will be Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger and Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees.

As far as the storyline goes, no one is saying exactly as New Line is keeping hush-hush about the upcoming film. However it is described by James Robinson that Jason Voorhees is the less evil of the two. He is not good, but he is more like a force of nature as Freddy Krueger is the pure evil. What will happen when these monster icons go at it? It's a case that only New Line and the crew know, but keep checkin' back for updates.

I hear now that Robinson and Goyer have now dropped out from the script. This is, of course, old news and the new writer will be Rob Bottin along with being the director of this film. Robert Englund did take a look at the new script and loved it. There will be some changes by Robert Englund but keep checking in.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Robert Englund is helping write the script? This oughta be real good. What if Charles Manson wrote the script for his own TV miniseries? Heh heh heh... Seriously, I think we're in for a treat if he can convince Bottin to go along with some of his crazy ideas. I mean, come on, after playing Freddy all these years, you'd imagine he'd have some bad-ass ideas, right?
