Our Local Charity Work

The CGSAA plays an active part in the community by volunteering time and monies to various charities and groups in the local area. We assist financially or volunteer time to pre-determined charities that are voted on by the CGSAA membership.

If you are a charity in need of support, please contact us here for more information.

I Spy Boards for the Astoria Children's Museum:

Do you have a board game that you no longer use because you are missing pieces? Have you lost part of your refrigerator magnet alphabet set? We are collecting game board pieces and small children's toys to create I SPY boards for the Astoria Children's Museum. Any donations of toys or volunteer time to put the boards together are greatly appreciated! The Astoria Children's Museum is located on the corner of 30th St and Marine Dr. They are open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

Thanksgiving Basket Drive:

The CGSAA, in conjunction with Clatsop Community Action (CCA), assembles and distributes Thanksgiving baskets to families who are in need in the local community. Canned food and monetary donations are collected from local businesses, USCG units, the CG Exchange, and local residents of Astoria and surrounding communities. Members of the club help in so many ways, from working with area schools' canned food drives, transporting food donations, to assembling baskets. In recent years, the CGSAA has provided over 400 plus baskets for the local community!
